Stressholme in Darlington, a decent municipal back in the day, that has since been taken over by the local Members Club and renamed as Blackwell Grange.
Frustrating day with my irons,
Ended up fatting everything in the soggy conditions and when compensating ended up thinning everything else, played well off the tee and putted nicely but only hit 3/4 clean iron shots out of 30.
Bloody winter!
My Howson putter, bought from a short lived golf store on the outskirts of Darlington Town Centre back in the early 1990's. Makes it 25 years old. Still own the irons I bought 2nd hand back then, they must be from the late 70's/early '80's
2019- Get properly involved at the club I've joined, achieve a handicap under 20 and improve my general consistency and ball striking
Lifetime, Who knows? Single Figures maybe, and to have a weekend away golfing somewhere
Even at my best I'd say my 3 wood is only 20 yards shorter than my driver off the tee. It's not a massive one to be concerned about, the answers are probably lessons, then fitting, with a caveat that adds nothing new and shiny will do the job any better than something 10 years old.

I've only ever had half a dozen lessons but in the midst of them the pro that I was being taught by told me that when he was a child learning the game, his dad would only buy him another club, when he could play all the types of shot available with the ones he had.
A bit extreme if you ask me...
Have driven a number of them, the petrol engine is very raspy and no power above 40mph. The auto's are a decent auto box (for a french one)
Roomy in the front but tiny in the back, load space is neat. Perfect 2nd car.
I don't know the ins and outs of the closure, as it was well before my time in this area, but North Weald golf club has bits and pieces of it left, the range still seems to be operating as a going concern, and the old car park looks to have been redeveloped into a five a side football area. The...
