Your Clubs Individual Open

If I remember correctly from last year, ours is 30 € for memebers and 65 € for guests, including the reception with a three course dinner afterwards. It used to be an event sponsored by a local electronics store and a travel agency, so the always had fantastic prizes, up to big screen plasma tvs and weekend trips to Spain, which is why people were always willing to pay the slightly steep registration fee. The sponsors have both withdrawn last year, though, so participation has gone down as all you can win now is an ugly glass bowl.

Wouldn't pay to play in our opens.
I play at colleagues clubs open once a year. Sort of a work bragging rights affair.
Other than that, tend to avoid opens anyway as I don't like team games and nobody seems to do an individual open.

I dont know know where you're based but there are literally 100s of individual opens for uk golfers to enter (I played,well, turned up at one yesterday).

my clubs opens are £50 and £20 for members, the other is £10 for members and £35 for visitors. A pretty fair amount in my opinion.

i would say pretty much all the opens in Scotland are individual opens, this team thing must be just an English thing.

carrying on with the no members allowed to play in their home open ,a couple of years ago myself and three mates were looking to enter a few team opens ,all the events we fancied entering had a proviso that your team was made up from three guests ,ie us and a club member to be picked at random . we didnt play any opens that year ,what is it that says team open and then throw a total stranger in the mix and you have to leave one of your mates out because of it .
