Had come up short on a longish par 4 and decided to putt from around 40ft just off the green. Would have been well happy with a par, given it had two breaks in it, but then holed it for birdie. Take your breaks where you find them, right?

120 yards into a par 5 in the rough, put it to three foot landed just past and spun back lovely shot. The green sits at a slight angle so I have a lovely view of it landing too.

2nd hole approx 100 yards away in the right hand rough with trees in front, no problem with a wedge in hand, terrible swing, knifed it straight into the trees which only managed to slow it down enough to roll up to 6ft from the pin (missed the damned putt as well!)

Our par 4 5th hole is 460yds dogleg right with a hedge/path 20 yards short of the green. Driving the corner is very difficult due to wind and tree height so most folks usually play straight and sometimes play it as a par 5 as the second shot can be quite an ask from most members.
Monster hook out over the OOB came back into the middle of the fairway with the crosswind, second shot was approx 220yds into wind I hit a 3 wood that Rory would have been proud of, got to the green and it was 6-7 feet away, holed it for birdie, first time this year, in fact I have only parred it once this year also so took a little satisfaction from it.

I've had two of my better shots ever in my last two rounds, the first, last Sunday drive down 17 that I blocked right, through the trees, past the 18th fairway into the right side rough on the 18th. I had 165 left in, had to hit over these massively tall trees, so took a 7 iron and hit it as hard as I could over the trees, clipping the very top branch and stopping dead 3 foot from the hole.

The other was on Tuesday, 3 wood down the right side left me just blocked out by trees, right beside the 150 marker so took a 9 iron as it was quite downhill, faded up and around the trees, took a massive hop at the front of the green over the flag and stopped 6 feet behind the hole

found a bunker with my tee-shot on the par-3 14th hole. hit a perfect bunker shot that danced around the cup as-seen-on-tv and came to rest inside 2 feet for a tap-in-par (i spare you the details for the rest of the round)

5 iron out of the semi rough into a stiff(!) breeze from 160. Went arrow straight and finished pin high 25' left. One of not very many that found the middle of the club.

My second shot at our 15th.

Hit a good drive in the fairway and hit a 4 iron aswell as I probably can onto the front of the green. Greens narrow at the front and surrounded by deep bunkers.

2 putt birdie only enough to half the hole with karl_102 right enough!

Am sure I had a shot and won the hole ;) (a rare occasion against you pair) I would either say said 8ft putt for the birdie or an 6 iron to the SI 2 hole to 10 ft.... Which I then left my birdie putt shockingly short !!!!

Yep, couldn't quite get the eagle to half the hole my Mexican friend

Your 2nd on 8 was a blinding strike.

Last Tuesday, raining, into the fan, weather proofed up, 7th hole Par 3 132yrds.
Boss puts it to 4ft dead in line with the flag and the tee.
Me, 7 iron, ball clean as you like off the tee peg, flight looked a treat through the murk, ball lands 2ft behind the hole dead in line with the flag and tee.

Had a nice shot last Saturday, society weekender at St Mellion, playing fourball, again a par 3 all four of us had the green surrounded, I thought I was in the bunker but no, not so simple I am on the edge of the thin strip of grass between the bunkers. To play the ball right handed I would be standing in the bunker and the ball would be at shoulder height, so I take out my 5 iron turn it round take up a left handed grip and play it to 4 feet of the hole, to everyone's surprise.

Best shot of my last medal round a 125 yard PW into our 16th a 360yd Par 4 with pond front right and a bunker front left and OB at the back. Pitched on the front edge rolled ever closer to the hole and looked like a dead cert birdie. Not looking at the hole walking down chatting to my playing partners and one who had been hacking our from behind some trees said where did your ball go! It had dropped in for my first eagle and I didn't see it.

That took me to 2 under on the back nine and it looked like I would finally get that elusive cut this year only for the golfing gods to kick me in the danglies when a wicked bounce on my approach to the 17th sent my ball at right angles into the pond protecting the front and I came off with a very unsavoury 8 but still managed to make buffer for only the 2nd time this year - roll on next year :)

I actually had a few candidates! Back to back birdies. The first was a 2 on the par 3 11th: 8 iron aimed well right to allow the wind to bring it back (deliberate honest!) struck it perfectly and watched it sail back to the green. Ended up pin high but a good 20ft away. Sank it. So either of those two shots.

Hit a 9 iron to 2 foot on the next hole (par 5) for birdie.

Also hit a few drives that I don't want back.

Got to be a wedge that dropped just past the pin and hopped back, would have been very close to going in if not for the slight slope to the hole. All I got was a little hop back from the pitchmark.

What made it stand out was it was through a howling crosswind and I had to go over a pond!
