Your best shot ever?

My one and only eagle. 100 yrd or so with an easy pw. Over the bunker guarding the green, one bounce and in the hole. Not that I could see the final outcome, just the greenkeeper applauding behind the green. :D

Probabley the most pressured shot i had a four iron into the wind from about 180 yards and creamed it at the flag in match play opponent 15 ft away i put it to about an inch and won the matchplay. :D

My best shot is always the one that puts any challenge out of reach, or gives me that certain win. Every other good shot is just sweetner through a season.

Probably a 6 iron I holed for 2 on a blind par-4 while playing golf in Canada. I knew the line and as soon as i hit it, knew it was a great shot. One of my playing partners was watching from the brow of the hill, and as i walked up, I heard him say: Great shot .... right on line ..... just pitched short of the hole, running at the flag .... **** its in!

I've hit loads of great shots, including some under pressure, but I'm not sure I've hit a truely great shot. Apart from a hole in one or holing out for eagle/albatrosss is there a best ever? Surely you can hit what you thought was a career shot and then at a later date hit another that in the circumstances was better.

There are loads that have given me pleasure. Hitting an huge intentional hook at the 3rd at Leatherhead and moving the ball about 40 yards in the air to find the green was a pleaser. Hitting the green in two at the 15th at Ascot for the first time. Hitting the green off the tee on the 3rd, 5th, 9th and 15th at Wimbledon Common (in the 80's with persimmon woods and balata balls) for the first time. A lot of the best shots have been the do or die rescue ones where you look like a pro if it comes off and a burk if it doesn't. I've hit a few of these over the years that at the time I thought were great.

Not sure I'll ever hit my best ever!

In a team match last year i hit a 4 iron onto the top of the 12th green at my home course,my opponent and i then watched the ball run down the slope, taking the break to the left and stopping right beside the pin,all as planned (honest)

i would say that i have hit a good few shots, but no one sticks out ie on saturday i hit a 5 wood for second shot on a par 5 and was pin higt 10 ft away,so that was a great shot

Interclub Matchplay. Match 5 of 5. All square on the 18 th green. Lots of wind and drizzling rain. Opponent at 8 feet from the hole. I had to play a "banana" put from 40 feet downhill. I can assure you, adrenaline is pumping... Same preparation as for every putt. Hit it smoothly and right through the middle in the hole!! The other party missed its put.. we won 3&2. I will never forget this, same for the festivities afterwards

best regards from Belgium

I've hit lots of great shots in me time!

But the best sequence of shots I had was in a matchplay competition, I turned 1up. Then at the 10th I holed a 4 iron eagle 2, wedge to 5feet birdie 3, 6 iron to 10 feet par 3, 8 iron to 3 feet birdie 3, wedge to 1 foot birdie 3 and then 3 wood to 20 feet 2 putt birdie 4 and I was still only 1up. I then crazily won the match with bogey, bogey.

the par three 15th at tinsley gc sheffield hit a 5 iron to about 6 inches. could'nt see the base of the flag as the green is slightly elevated from the tee. it's the closest i've been to a hole in one but at least i went on to finish 1st in the sunday stableford with 41 points. happy days! :)

2 come to mind during an inter club match last year.
all square on the 13th tee, SI1, par 4. Great drive followed by 9 iron to 12 inches for a winning birdie. Our opponents never recovered and game sealed on 16th.

Mine came during one of my worst performances on a golf course on the PGA at the Belfry at the GM Meet. Everything else was awful except for a great lob wedge out of a very deep greenside bunker that went straight in the hole for a net albatross and 5 points.

A few weeks later I was on the par 4 8th at Stoke Rochford, bad tee shot, duffed second, third over the back of the green down a steep 6 ft slope to the next tee, lob wedge back straight in the hole for par.

As a newbie it's easy to name your best shot as you haven't hit that many. 40 foot chip I sunk on the 9th my second time round my local par 3. Hope i have plenty more to come. Plenty of belting shots being mentioned on here. I've always admired close approach shots and delicate rescues from the bunker.

I hit a 4iron into a head wind on our par 3 4th which landed 2ft from the pin on a green thats shaped like an upturned saucer....
I had my first birdie and had a nightmare of a round afterwards....... :D :D

Mine consists of best 3 shots ever @ Royal Birkdale 18th Hole, week after the open 3wood off the tee, ended up short of the bunker on the right,5 wood onto the green and one putt,3 nett 2,gave me the points to qualify for Turnberry.A day i wont ever forget. :) :) :)

Impossible to say. I've had many this year that I'll remember forever. Having to hit driver-driver to all the par 5's on a windy day and birdying all 4 of them was a memorable day. Even my hole-in-one (16 years ago) doesn't feel that special now, although I'll never forget it. There was one super-special 4-iron to the 18th at La Cala that was fantastic purely because of the context of the match.... in fact that could be the one :)

Par 5, 250yds out, down hill looking at a green the size of a stamp, needed a birdie to secure the victory and flushed a 4-iron that was like a laser-guided missile. Rolled the eagle putt to the edge of the hole and tapped in for the win - you'd have had to be there to feel it!!! :)

Needing a birdie to win and getting it is an awsome feeling.

I made a pretty nice eagle at Murph's place the other week which was 3 perfect shots in a row. I'll probably remember that one longer than the 2 I made at my place last week :D
