... the front wheel no longer goes round and you have to dismantle the whole assembly, soak the wheel and bracket in water and use a chisel to get mud off. Sometimes an air hose just isn't enough!
 
I have had two trolleys with inadequate clearance for the front wheel. It is a design fault, which is especially poor for a uk designed trolley. I carry a metal spatula for cleaning mine out mid round.
 
It does beg the question - why did the club allow trollies out in the first place if it was so muddy and wet out there

Good point. Issue is that the conditions vary with the time of day and where you are around the course at this time of year. Start with hard ground because of the frost, then it starts to thaw and the top surface melts and goes a bit gloopy in places and then the sun dries it out a bit more and it's OK - strangely the further away from the river and the higher the ground the worse it is as the earthworms seem to be more active with altitude and the wormcasts are really adhesive.
 
Left mine in the car overnight and the small amount of debris in the front wheel froze solid. Had to use it with 2 wheels until it defrosted.
