Yes, PB, Get in their....sub 80..

that links experience is well paying off then. that really is the way to approach the greens at the minute.

as far as leaving them adams out of the bag. you sir, have the patience of a saint. no matter what club I buy, if its new and shiney, it goes straight into the bag. ill even use it when I probably shouldn't in the early days. lol

There not far off coming out, possibly the 18* before the 15* will show its head. I'm still waiting on my Adams V4 19* Hybrid which was out of stock, that will make the biggest difference and impact to my bag as dropping from my 13* down to my 4 iron is a bit much at times.

is the 19 a fairway wood? maybe something like a 22 hybrid would have been a better fit distance wise.

The 18 & 15 are fairway woods and the 19 is a hybrid, it filled the gap perfectly above my 4 iron, I got 12yds extra on my fitting day with it.

Was drawn against 2 excellent golfers in our clubs Spring Alliance knock-out, one is a 2 handicapper and the other a 6.

The pair we beat couldn't have been more gracious in defeat as they both know how hard I've been working at my game and although disappointed, they couldn't have been more pleased for me, proper gents

Congratulations Robin. Credit where credit is due.

I bet your opponents were over the moon when they saw you recent medal round.

I shot a gross 35 out and gross 44 in for a grand total of 79

Very well played and no doubt a massive confidence booster for the next time you play a comp. We'll be expecting a change in that signature anytime soon!

Well done! No one should begrudge hard work and determination! The low handicappers have all been high once and they can see when someone else is on a mission, they want to welcome you to their ranks! So keep working on it and look at your rounds honestly and see where you could shed a few more shots.

Great shooting it's always a nice feeling for your total score to start with a 70.
Glad the effort you've been putting in is paying off, keep it up and hopefully it comes in the few qualifiers you've got to play too.

Well Robin how did you game go, I take it no news is good news:thup:

No I lost my semi-final.

I went 2-up from the off and then lost 5 holes on the belt, mainly to birdies and some very good pars in a tough part of the course to go 3-down. Won the 8th with a birdie and halved the 9th with a par against his birdie to be 2-down on the turn. I kept my head and halved the 10th & 11th with no shots and then won the 12th with a nice birdie and my tail was up then. Halved the 13th then won the 14th & 15th to go 1-up and felt really good. 2nd shot on the 16th the ball was well above my feet on our ridiculous fairway and I tried to just punch a 4 iron down to the 150 marker confident of making the green from their and looking for a half with no shot available but for some mad moment, I followed through my swing and steered it OOB, dropped another but a double bogey was no good! Went to the 17th all square and he only took a 5 iron off the tee which I though was giving me a lot of respect and he just stuck it up the fairway, I took my 3w and didn't get any draw and it flew just straight at the dogleg and ran into the tree's due to a baked fairway and huge bounce. Walked up and never found the ball so walked back and hit another but the damage was done, 2 doubles on the belt! Went to the 18th knowing I had to win it to take him back down the 1st and with a shot I really fancied that. He was long just off the back of the green and I was just short of the green, he chipped first and came sailing past the pin by 15ft, I chipped up to around 4ft to the side. He was short on his put and I had to knock mine in now to take it to 19 holes and................................it feckin' lipped out as I tried to drill it in :angry :(

I had a really good run, took out some big boys who fancied it and learnt a lot from it. I actually didn't feel beaten as such as I shot 5 under handicap and made 2 silly errors at critical times so I feel more that I lost it rather than being beaten if you know what I mean, especially coming back when I was well and truly on the back foot and then coming back to go 1 up on 15.

Still in another club knock-out and a pairs so I'm having a decent season to date ;)

Unlucky Robin, you have had a good run this year and the handicap is heading in the right direction.

Good luck with you other ties and keep up the good work:thup:

I don't get it, you say you had a shot and from the above you both appear to have taken four, surely that's a win for you?? Or was it the 1st where you had your shot?

The 1st where I had a shot which is why I fancied taking him back down it, no shot on the 18th and I only halved it :(

My partner is off 7 so we compliment each other very well.

I shot a gross 35 out and gross 44 in for a grand total of 79 :whoo:

Gross birdies on 2, 6, 7, & 8 and a gross par on the 9th with the rest only single bogeys

3 birdies on the belt and 4 on the front 9, a real PB :D

Felt the adrenalin on the back 9 but kept it together to still shoot well under under handicap.

The pair we beat couldn't have been more gracious in defeat as they both know how hard I've been working at my game and although disappointed, they couldn't have been more pleased for me, proper gents

We won 4 & 2 with me parring the 16th, to say I'm chuffed....well.......I'm Banditacus ;)

wish i could last 3 comps all 80 gross for Buffer

Well done. Feels nice. If I can string the front and the back 9 together at Mossock I will break my record of 78. It will be mine!

Well played.
