I like the challenge. It’s why I use a different starting word every day and I don’t often have lots of the big hitters like e, a, s, t, r in the first word.This is how it should be done though, gives yourself the best chance of getting the job done in as little guesses as possible

You should go to settings then and turn on "hard mode", that forces you to use any letters that you guess correctly.

I already do that without the hard mode setting. Can't not use a letter I've found and never quite get the elimination word thing

Ahh, but you get a little asterisk against your guess if you have hard more on.
