Went up the club early today to have a coffee and watch the second half of the Ireland rugby. Sat next to me were 4 members of our scratch team. One had had a lesson that week and his pro had got him using this 'great training aid' that was like 2 tour sticks joined together. Apparently 'some club pro had invented it and sold the idea to yes for a fortune'.

He was very complimentary and gave the web address to all of his mates so as they could order them. Was going to tell him that the inventor was in the clubhouse a couple of weeks earler and had already sold one to the club steward but thought I would leave him as the person to 'discover' this wonderful training aid.

There is proof, however, that word of the V-Easy is spreading.

I got some smiles when warming up with mine this weekend and one of my playing partners let out a snigger. He wasn't laughing when he saw how my chipping and putting had improved with just one weeks use, thanks bob!

I also shot my best score on the front nine yesterday, we won't talk about the back nine though! I also had my lowest putt count today and a chip in on the 14th!!

Now if I can just sort out my driving, irons and pitching life will be perfect!!

mmm didnt realise it did pitching/chipping, I assume it negates the use of the wrists in pitching? I'm a big fan of mickelsons hinge and hold method, would the v easy help this or hinder it?

I was using mine on the practice green when someone shouted from 30 yards away in some loud obnoxious lancastrian accent "what the f**k is that?" I didn't tell him, I tend not to respond to the uncouth :)

It's mainly for the shorter chips from just off the green which doesnt need a wrist hinge.
So basically a putting stroke with a wedge/7 iron/hybrid etc.
The hinge and hold is normally for the longer chip shot and pitches.

Gary Wolstenholme seems to like it :)

Have to say for the short chips as described it has made a huge difference. As the longer chip is really an extension of this initial stroke there is no surprise that all my short game is finally showing a move in the right direction. The issue I have with putting and its something I'd be interested to hear Bob comment on, is that I always felt more comfy right from day one with a takeaway slightly inside the line. I was coached out of that into a straight back and through which the V-Easy does promote effectively. However I want to go back to what I consider is a more reliable stroke (for me) and take it away inside especially with the new Ping line being specifically weighted to allow this. Can the V-Easy really help and in, square, in stroke or is it purely for back and through

I think its a crap and pointless training aid for the putting stroke, plays havoc with my broomhandle stroke!

Its a good job I think its an excellent alignment aid on the range. So simple yet so effective.

That's because you're using it wrong. For the broomhandle putters, you turn it upside down and tuck the ends into your golf shoes and hold the hinge with your lower hand. Alternatively, you can put one end in each nostril, but it can chafe if you don't turn your head in line with your putting stroke.

I foolishly lent mine to a junior at my last club to get the word around the junior section. They all seem to have gizmo's and gadgets for practicing. Unfortunatly he never gave it back and I left the club. I'm minus one V-Easy!!!
