I think, think note, you can only change your ball between holes unless your ball is actually damaged. Changing it mid hole because it is muddy is not a good enough reason.I did this today.

Just thought I'd resurrect this thread after a lively discussion in our spike bar after yesterday's round
....
After the enormous efforts made to get him to change his ways, he is now good as gold and marks his ball, lifts, cleans and places when Winter Rules are in play. We are reluctant to let him know of the rule change in case he goes back to his club jiggling routine. Do you think we should tell him?
Do what you feel is right . Just don't preach to others that they should carry on with the old way when it's no longer necessary.
