I haven't watched much, but have enjoyed the snowboard racing and a great gold for team GB, and I love how it has suddenly become a national sport, the link person on TV saying and as everyone knows this can be a lottery.

I thought it was awesome, said to the missus I would love to do that. But I also said I would do the skeleton as well and see if anyone could tolerate a 56yr old man in Lycra ..

I guess the answer is why not? All the best athletes are there, all the infrastructure is there, all the broadcasters are there, all the crowds are there. What’s not to like?
We see enough on bikes at a weekend, gathering in cafes en route. We are prepared now, we can cope
They also seem to be in the fast and furious, fun events, so lend themselves to it.

Funnily enough I said similar to my missus.
She just looked at me and pointed to the compression bandage round my left knee (injured when i banged it on a filing cabinet a few days ago), reminded me that I was going to be 60 in a couple of weeks time and threw me a dish towel to do the drying up....which I promptly dropped.

Enjoying watching the different events. Little British interest but my favourite is the biathlon and I started watching all the World Cup races back in 2020. I cheer on the Norwegians and J O Botn’s win in the first individual event last week was emotional. For those who don’t know he found his room mate dead (another biathlete) at their training camp in December. He’s been ill will stress since and only recently started racing again.

GB Olympics have become very smart in targeting certain events, guiding athletes to those events. Skeleton is a good example of that, as is rowing in the summer games. Clever move
