Winter Olympics (for those that like them)

That’s how my Mrs explained it to me in simple terms.

literally both glued to it and Mrs M is calling the shots before they’ve played them. I genuinely had no idea ha had a clue about the sport! She was a very high level skier so I guess she’s had more exposure to these events but I’m baffled 🤣

I’ve just called a 3 before the commentator said it could be a 3. I’ve got this game cracked.

Well they did brilliantly to recover to get to the final and it came down to one bad end

Another silver for them
The 8th end was where they lost it....too many loose stones forcing them to settle for 1.

Kicked their confidence just a little and raised that of the Canadians.

Still on the upside...I wont now have to continue to listen to Steve Cram and his doom and gloom mind-set. I'm not sure he would ever see the positive at one end of a battery.

Great stuff to watch. Will have to have a go at curling when I'm up there in the summer
Tried it a few months ago (there is a great facility at The Flower Bowl near Preston if anyone is interested - one of the few real ice curling rinks in England).
It is bloody hard. We all struggled to get the stones to reach the house, let alone achieve any real accuracy. Bloody good fun though and we think we will go back.

We did an hour taster session - they do a 2 hour one too which would have been much better.

If I did 2 hours of sliding ice lunges with my knee up to my head (if I could) I wouldn't be able to walk for a month.......

A lot of watching others and walking up and down too....and the action they coach is actually more like bowling, they don't encourage sliding.......knees on the ice cause it to heat up and melt. and is a no no. Obviously they allow the olympians to do that!

Myself and the wife are currently glued to the curling and I’ve discovered she’s a bloody expert. I’ve been asking alsorts of questions and she’s been answering before the commentators say anything. Been together 10years and I had no idea she liked the sport and she’s announces “I love it, I watch it all the time when it’s on and you’re not home”. You think you know someone 🤣
So never then? When is it on, besides the winter Olympics??

Had a quick check. BBC iplayer will show the European and World Championships as well. Beyond that, there are platforms like the Curling Channel, Grand Slam of Curling website and YouTube.

I don't think there is a curling equivalent of AFCON to watch.
