Will Tiger miss the Masters

ChrisMc,

The reason i say you know knothing about golf is because not too want to see the best player in action and not to be back playing suggests you dont know a golfer when you see one therefore not knowing to much about the game.

You say he will never be as great as seve and many others and you are entitled to you opinion but i personally am not old enough to comment on seve but i cant imagine there would be as much media scrutiny on anybody else that has played the game.

He maybe should not have the ALLEDGED afairs but that is no reason not to want to watch him play golf.

I dont really care if he's there or not. I know for 1 sure thing if he's not there we'll still see all his past victories and interviews. Their obsessed with Tiger even when he's not playing.

As a fellow golfer......

Golfmmad.

Now I remember who it is your swing reminds me of.

Not really sure how to take that Clive

:D
In saying, "Fellow golfer", is to say I play the same game, and obviously not to the same high level of skill and greatness.

I'm surprised, as you say that you've seen my swing.....
You know it was a thing of beauty and athleticism and raw power! :D :D

Tiger clearly has two things that are important in his life, golf, and sex. He won't miss the masters. He might have a hooker in tow, or the familly, but he will be there.

Heck, he is a pro golfer. There are guys on here (not pro's) who can't cope with 2 weeks off, let alone 3 months or more.

Why has liking or not liking Tiger got anything to do with 'how much I know" about Golf ?
:D

I just dont like him, find him arrogant, petulant, and his behaviour is pretty poor too, all in all, NOT a good role model.

Sure, he's the best, but that didnt stop Bootmaker being universally disliked.

Takes a lot more success and skill to make the world love you, and after whats gone on, he'll NEVER be as Great as Seve or many of the others.

Joke post of 2010 has been well and truly found men.....

Please take it with the greatest pinch of salt that you can find, which is the way it was intended.

I was just wondering why you emphasised your similarity as golfers, when we all know that it's your sexual prowess that you copy from Tiger.

( Please, no gags about 'it was a thing of beauty and athleticism and raw power! ' Some jokes are just tooooo easy :o )

Tiger will be at Augusta, no danger. But he will not win. His (largely) impervious persona has been burst by the comedy story of his posse of slappers, and a player that you snigger at under your breath is less intimidating.

I am certain he will play Augusta, In a way golf is the only thing that will get him away from the rubbish (self inflicted or not) he is going through at the moment.

I'm not sure he will be there. He's booked himself into sex rehab now so he's clearly got some issues to resolve. Added to that is the fact that his beloved family man image has been smashed apart and he's become a laughing stock. Is Tiger humble enough to step out into the public eye so soon??? At this moment I think not.

I hope he is there though - the spectacle will be compulsive viewing. :)

I think it is a sad state of affairs that this is still going on. I couldn't care less what Tiger, or anyone else, does behind closed doors.

the question shouldn't be 'will Tiger miss the Masters' it should be 'will the Masters miss Tiger' and I think the answer to that is no.

Golf is bigger than the man. Yes he has helped make golf bigger but it will continue whether he is there or not.

Coverage of the tornament will be better without him, I for one would rather see 'the field' putting out rather than a close up of Woods waiting for the green to clear.

Is is a superb player and great to watch, but so are the rest of the top players.

Never really been a Tiger fan because of his conduct and behaviour but It will be a crying shame if he doesn't return.

Nobody can play golf like Tiger can, Nobody can make the comebacks he does and nobody can make a drama as good as he does.

I hope he comes back, I just hope Westy beats him! :D

We'll know soon enough. He'll have to play one or two before the Masters and they will be the deciders whether he will play in any major this year.

I think you can pencil in a spare slot in the US Ryder Cup team anyway.

The interesting thing now is, just how much is Tiger worth to golf. Like him or loathe him, he always was the man the sponsors followed - now?

In one sense i hope he does play, because if he doesn't whoever wins will be struck with the 'would he have won it if Tiger was playing' tag.

On the other hand, if he doesn't play, the coverage should be better with a wider range of players get some TV time.

I hope he plays and I can't understand anyone not wanting the world number 1 to play, he is and has been the best golfer over the last 15 yrs (is he the best ever, thats another topic)so if he doesn't play the feild is weaker.

I don't think he'll be at The Masters without having played a tournament,he'll need to get the media hype out of the way first before turning up at Augusta.

There will be a lot of Tournament sponsors hoping theirs is the one he chooses to make the long awaited comeback.

Dodger: In my eyes, (and I would bet a helluva lot of the global golf viewing public,) I would regard 'respect' and overall admiration of someone's persona to be an integral part of becoming a 'Great'.

TW has now lost most of the worlds respect as a person, and certainly I'm sure that of a lot of Golf's heirarchy, not least of which for the manner he has single handedly tarnished the Sport in his grubby way.

I dont care how many more Majors he wins, or billions he earns, he will never be treat with as much affection and warmth as a true great that walked down this years Open final hole, Tom Watson.

There simply isnt another of the worlds best players over the years that have conducted themselves quite as badly on, or off the course, as TW.
Nicklaus, Watson, Seve, Norman, Palmer, Trevino, Player, have all been complete and utter 100% Gentlemen, gratious in defeat, and glorious in success, and wthout a hint of petulance or arrogance.

Unless TW comes back as someone totally different, he wont ever be thought of in the same veign. Period.

Great Golfer....undoubted.
One of Golf's Greats' ? - No way.
