Why do you rarely get golf waterproofs with a hood?

Yeah this is kind of what I was getting at. We're talking about golf specific wear here. Surely someone could produce a hood that's cut in such a way that it wouldn't obscure the vision when you swing? I dunno. Perhaps they've all looked into it and come up with nothing!

Seriously man!!

Less than £80 for the both and you won’t look like a complete tool!

Crikey. What sort of course do you play at ???
Assault course.

It was to show your vision is impaired by a hood.
Your head is on your Atlas and can swivel but a hood is fixed to the garment.

Just a thought my mum used to have a clear plastic hood that tied under the chin ,let’s bring them back.

Just spitballing this as plenty of showers are predicted for this weekend and it's Club Champs so not playing isn't really an option.

My waterproof jacket is old and a quite baggy so I want to pick up a newer one, I'm just finding it weird that you never seem to see a golf waterproof with a hood. Is it a dress code thing?? Because if so I think it's bit daft to expect golfers to tolerate rain down the back of the neck just for some perceived ideal of smartness. Think I've seen Jason Day and Tony Finau with a hooded one so maybe this was the reason but it's starting to change?

@Orikoru Bought a couple.of these in the US.

Waterproof in a couple.of heavy downpours, but not used for a sustained period.

Have toggles on hood so you can tighten if you want.

Might be worth a punt @ £25 quid. No stupid golf 'stylings' either.so if doesn't work can use for casual wear. They're pretty smart on.

Massive lols at some of the nonsense in this thread from the forum fashionistas.

Nice. Something like that would probably do the job. Going shopping in the morning (round is in the afternoon) to have a look for something, but actually the weather report has changed now and there's a chance I can get away without needing one anyway. Still handy for future use.

I wear a goretex jacket which is actually a walking jacket rather than a golfing jacket. It has a foldaway hood which is very rarely used because I find it interferes with the swing when in use. When it is folded away it makes the collar a very good fit against the neck and stops a lot of water from going down the back anyway.
