Why do the Americans hate Sergio and Justin?

The pod cast i listen too is also American, and they were rooting for Garcia before a ball was even struck off the first tee, on the first day.

He does seem to be - but on the course I think he can come across as very cool, stiff upper lip, a little bit aloof and actually slightly arrogant. And of course the yanks will pick up on that English superiority thing. And before anyone jumps on me - I say 'English' as that's how the yanks will see it - they won't see it as a British thing.

Hmmm - I'd say they knew Monty was Scottish but he was more aloof and petted than anyone and quite disliked in US (and elsewhere) I think given the abuse he took.

Both play on the PGA and both well received (at least from the coverage I watched) and the fans seemed genuinely enthralled as the final few holes played out. There was definitely a feeling of warmth towards Sergio and a degree of sympathy for Rose. I think the podcast is simply set out to cause controversy to seek an audience

Having watched live golf in the US over the years I think the US fans adore Sergo. Even when the Ryder Cup is on the regard him as one of their own.

They are indifferent generally to most European players and darnright agressive to a couple but not Sergio.

so journo's on a podcast speak for all us 325+ million now ....

some pretty heavy generalization & assumption goin down in a few of these posts .... again

anyone in the grounds at augusta - or paying attention to the telecast for that matter wouldn't have drawn that conclusion

the final day probably one of the best ever ranks right up there
the head to head Rosey & Sergio with both playing amazing stuff out there awesome - both received at every stage with great enthusiasm & respect

either would have been a great champion & worthy winner
it's just good to see the game played at that level in that spirit

may the guy or gal in any pro comp who plays the best - win - whatever race color creed or nationality

great to see Sergio hit some spectacular shots under the gun - particularly that 8i - wow!
great champion & on his mentor & great friends Seve birth date

fantastic

You have to forgive us - its what we do. All Yorkshire men are mean; all southerners drink shandy; all Frenchmen smell of garlic and all Americans wear loud trousers. Etc.

To be fair coach, i think in this case, if some podcast was claiming that "americans hate Rose & Garcia" then the generalisation of the thread was that americans would not agree with the t#sser
