If i'd answered this question 6 weeks ago I'd have descrided as excrement. Now I'll revise that to average at best.
Targets this year were, to get a win, qualify for my 1st Club Championship 36 hole final, and to get down to Cat 1 (5.4 Would've done)
How it went, well I changed jobs which severely cut into my practice time as I went to workin 5 days a week instead of 4. plus working later and further away made the range harder to get to of an evening. As a result my form nosedived, just managed to scrape into club championship final day with the 2nd worst qualifying score, collected to many consecutive 0.1's back.
The low point being having the 2nd worst round in club champ finals day during the opening 18 holes. Then somehow managed to do well in the 2nd 18 holes. Big turning point for me was that day, I decided I was letting work get in the way of my personal life and my enjoyment as I was working more and spending less time doing what I enjoy and I don't just mean golf.
AS a result, hace changed my hours at work and looking for something nearer to home. Switched to a Belly Putter and got back down the range, which has resulted in:
Winning a Medal,
Shooting 2 x PB's (a 74, then beaten with a 73)
Qualified for our Clubs last major the Medal Winners Cup (which is next week our closing comp of the season)
More importantly turned the handicap around and cut 2 whole shots down to 8.
Going to continue from what i've learnt and aim for Cat 1 next year and try to build on that and goto some forum meets.
