Who has had a great season then?

Ive had a very good and memorable year and it isnt finished yet

In March 2012 my handicap was 22.9 it is now 18.8
PB was 89, now 83
Equalled Imurg gross twice ( He was playing particularly badly and his trolley suffered accordingly)
Won 2 society Comps with silverware
won 2 Division rollup comps
Got selected as a Runner up in the Ping PYB comp and went on the Lee Westwood Day in June
Got selected for the PYB grand Final at Gainsborough last week.
Beat my PYB target of breaking 90 in a comp 3 times

Looking forward to the H4H day next week at Blackmoor, hope the weather holds out

now looking to consolidate the swing, get the driving more consistant and hope to reduce the handicap to 15 next year

Thanks to everyone on the forum and to the GM boys for their support

One good round all year at Cooden with Smiffy. Apart from that the biggest load of rubbish.:( Still got the H4H day, and a trip to Saunton to look forward to.

Bob, all joking aside. Do you get to play much competitive golf now?

I had 3 practice rounds before Woburn, 2 rounds at Woburn, one round at Thetford, Spalding and Belton Park and that it this year.
And I played rubbish at all of them, although I did just enough to pip Smiffy back in March.
One of the down sides not being a club member

I know a few pro's who play a fraction of the golf annually now in comparison to what they did monthly as amatuers. Shame really.

Had a good year - hit my target handicap of 14(14.3), down from 19.7.

Got a few more comps left and its looking more likely I will be back up to 15 after sundays effort - shanks, fats, thins all paid an unwelcome visit.

Gonna make 1 final push over the next few weeks and see if I can get 1 more cut before the year finishes.

I think this year certainly needs to go down as a success for me!

My second proper year of golfing and after not taking 2011 too seriously I put in some effort in 2012 and it seems to have paid off!

I started the year with a handicap of 25.5 and my target was to get to 18 which I have just had confirmation today that I have got 18.0 dead on the nose!

Won opening day Greensomes, 2 Overall Medal wins, 3rd Place in the Texas Scramble and last 16 of the Club Championships.

Personal best is down to 83 now too.

Final medal of the year on Saturday coming, going into it with absolutely no pressure on myself at all so just going to enjoy it then it is time for a winter of hard work!

Lots of fitness/strength/flexibility work over the next 5-6 months in the gym.
Getting properly fitted for some new shineys in the next couple of weeks too, Irons and Driver hopefully
Putting together a practice plan for winter so I keep doing something, even if it is just putting/chipping practice in the house and going to go see my pro to see if he will do me an extra special deal on bi-weekly lessons between now and March too.

Well only took up golf in any way in July, had hacked around before but no more than twice a year. Now I am a member of a club, play most weekends and have lessons. No real target for this year though have set myself the target of playing consistant golf by the time the summer comes round next. I have some good days then some shockers but really neeed to remind myself that I have only been playing golf in any real way for coming up to 4 months. Trying not run before I can walk.

My goal was to get to 12 by the end of September, and I did that by mid-August. Only 12.4 though, but still consider that job done!

I'm currently having lessons to rebuild elements of a very, very inconsistent swing. Update on this is that I'm striking the ball a hell of a lot better than I ever did with irons, generally more consistent and a little longer. The length isn't what I'm after though, it's the strike and the consistency that matters.

Driver is hell at present off the tee (although striped one on our 3rd, a par 5, off the deck some 245 yard uphill from the green and put it about 10 yards short, with a bit of fade!), but we're now working on that.

Plan is for single figures by April, but my pro reckons standard will be reached by December! That, and break 80 for the first time.

I have qualified for the Masters (invite only event for all honour board and monthly medal/stableford winners) for the last five seasons. The immediate goal irrespective of handicap etc is to keep the run going in 2013

Didn't really have any targets as I only started playing seriously in the spring.
However this year I have got a handicap, taken a shot off it, and broken 100 in competitions. I also beat a friend last weekend for the first time, he wasn't impressed:cool: Ive also broken 90 in a practice round, only once, but Ive done it so I know its possible to repeat.
Targets for next year are, regularly break 90 in comps, get handicap down to sub 20. Don't know if thats realistic but its something to aim at.
