Which would be more "cost efficient"....

OK..
So an almost new set of Cally X18's (3-PW) with Uniflex steel shafts.
Could I get £200.00 for them do you reckon?
they have only been used twice and apart from a few tiny marks are like new

You don't think if you persevere with them they will come good then?

I don't think so Murph.
I love the look of them at address, but after having graphite shafts in my last two sets I think I have made a mistake in going back to steel.
They just feel "dead" in my hands (don't know if that makes sense?)
I just feel that I will be happier with graphite again, and half the battle is feeling confident with what you have in your mitts isn't it?

Must say Smiffy i've been using graphite shafts since 99, and now I have trouble using steel.

As I say, my previous two sets had been graphite....I was using some Tandric irons, (despite the name a very, very good club) and then had John Letters Trilogy.
Whether I just swap and get some new Callaways with graphite shafts or look at something totally different I don't know but they will deffo be graphite.

I've often pondered this question as my MP30's are stiff shafts and I know my swing isn't fast enough for a stiff shaft.
However for me the question is, is it so critical for my irons, driver yes as when I had a custom fit MX560 that really helped but with the irons I am not so convinced when going from steel to steel but as you said you have been using graphite for a long while so thats a bigger difference.

If you really like them apart from the shaft tho surely the cost of new shafts is no more or possibly less than buying new without the agro of selling.
Me thinks you just want some new bling bling don't you? ;0)

Noooo! That's the last thing I want, I've only just bought the Callaways!! It's just that they don't feel right. And if they feel like this now, I'm not going to be confident with them.
A guy at work is interested in them for £200.00. He knows that they are almost new and admired them when I first got them.
It's just that fitting new shafts is likely to cost near on £200.00. I'm just thinking that with his £200 plus the £200 it would cost me to swap shafts it might just be worthwhile looking elsewhere.
With my old Trilogy irons I used to be able to feel the shaft zipping through the ball at impact. I don't get that feel with these clubs at all.

I think graphite shafts through the set will be more than £200. Steel are about £30 plus grip (I know because I have broken a few in my time), but graphite will be more. It cost about £70 to put a new shaft in my 5 wood, and £90 for my driver.

I think you will be better off buying new if you really need graphite shafts.

Personally I never got on with graphite. Tried them once, but found the yardages inconsistent. Could hit them miles though, if I timed it right, 170+ with an 8i, or 120 if I didn't. This was why they had to go. Who wants 170 from an 8i, when you are only 140 from the green.

Sell them and buy a set more suitable.

I concur, I did the same with the Ben Sayers M8 Tour hybrids, the shafts are too stiff even as reg.

Ben Sayers - why? You get them from Argos don't you?

Anyway back to the OP - have you found out how much it is to get them reshafted?

No AG, the standard M8 is a top quality hybrid as shown by GM, I thought JJB specialised in Nike Golf ;)

Get rid, £200 quid for them is a good price. With the 22's just being released. all the Callaway irons are dropping in price. Food chain effect if you like.

Take the £200 add however much you can to your budget and go get CF'd. Dont take the chance of buying the wrong irons if you are serious about your golf.

Good luck shifting them, you have anything in mind?
