Are the heads the exact same just the shafts are different? Reason I’m asking is my son has the mizuno 140cm junior golf set I measured him last night he’s 4ft 11 now and soon as he grows they will be too small. Next step would be ladies clubs ?
I got my wife a set of irons last year and ended up she hated golf so I’ll give him the irons and hybrid she had but he will need a wood and driver. I was thinking I could just give him my tsr3 3 wood and driver and just get a ladies shaft put in ? Or are ladies heads smaller and lighter maybe ?

I my experience...some and some....
Many heads are the same.....it's the shafts and grips that differe
But there are heads that are specifically made lighter for the Womenfolk....
Probably best to tap up the manufacturers.

The other factor I'd consider is the loft of the driver. Most junior drivers are around 15 degrees, so basically a 3 wood loft on a driver sized head, and then fairways usually start around the 20-22 degree range which is adult 7 wood territory.

My wife uses mizuno JPX forged just with a light graphite sr reg shaft, which were fitted for her. exactly the same heads as i used to use, with extra small grips. so i assume they are the same i know her driver was a Ladies driver but the only thing i notice that is different to the mens version is the loft 12 degree and the head cover has some pink on it.

Ladies shafts are more flexible even at 4'11'' maybe worth checking his swing speed as it may be faster than a lady. The next step may be Active Flex also known as senior flex.

I don't know the answer, but if the shafts are lighter, and even the grips are lighter, then surely the heads would have to be a bit lighter as well for swing-weight reasons?

My eldest dau still plays Ping G10's with regular steel shafts. The grips are smaller than standard, but that is how she was fitted. Her 7 iron is about 130 and her driver (an MD Golf 10 degress with reg shaft) is about 180-200.
