Which 'simple' shot do you most dislike having to hit?

A lengthy straight forward chip from the front of an open green to a back pin...........too many choices!!!!!!!!!

Chip & run
Fly all the way
Low spinner
Chunk & run
Putt

Aaaaaaaaaaah!!!

Commit to none of them and leave 30ft putt anyway. :(

Perhaps I am the only player with this wee affliction. finding an errant drive in the Weeds, some sort of obstruction preventing you from getting it towards the hole so you have to chip sideways to get it onto the fairway. 1 time out of time I will be on the fairway I aimed. Sometimes I will give it too much expecting the weeds to slow the club down and shoot through to the other side, Sometimes I dont get out. Sometimes I will be just short of the fairway in the first cut.

I feel your pain with this one! Most annoying if its to avoid some trees also and just not quite enough to clear the line of them!

I'll add a simple one that I often get wrong.

The Free Drop

Just last weekend I took a free drop from a track and dropped it so that it hit the ground in a place that caused it to shoot behind me and under a bush. Of 100 places to drop it I choose the wrong one...

I worry and calculate too much about the Free Drop

More practice needed, or if that fails get a lesson.

This for me too. Might actually dedicate some on-course practice time to this shot. It's pretty frustrating trying to just chip out of the trees and getting it wrong. Probably a concentration thing, as it's only a half-shot, and perceived as quite easy I don't concentrate properly. Could also be due to a deceleration issue coming into the ball. Definitely a shot that needs work though, and one that should be so simple!

I'd look a right one standing there by the putting green dropping my ball - and picking it up - and dropping it - and...

What you doing mate? I'm practicing dropping my ball! :)
Pro's practice. Lowering the arm at release, nice bit of back spin on the ball. You need the lesson.

I much preferred it when you dropped over your shoulder. It was a nice surprise to find out where your ball had gone.;)

Too much backspin (after hitting the ground) was my problem last time. BTW - are you allowed to put a bit of spin on the ball - I thought that you weren't?
