Which Iron?

Do you look at first when you're in a shop eyeing up the latest shiny sticks.
Inspired by a post on one of the other threads - fav club I think - I always pick up the 7 iron first. Don't know why but I always reach for it before any others.

Which one draws you in like a magnet?

Exactly the same for me!

It goes 7, PW then the longest iron usually 4. I think it is because a 7 iron is a club that pretty much every single golfer can hit sweetly 100% of the time, also it gives an idea of the rest of the set either being too fat/too thin as it is bang in the middle of the set

Yeah, I always go for the 7 aswell. I suppose as it's the middle one of the set (usually) you get a good impression of what they are like.

First one I tend to look at is the PW. If it's too chunky, then it goes straight back.

7i for me too. It was the first club I had back when I was a nipper, before i got my first set, so have always had a soft spot for it.

7 iron for me too followed by the wedge and then the longest iron on display

3 iron for me, if it looks friendly enough, ill take a second look, saying that I haven't looked past my AP2s since buying them to be honest, I just can see any other irons being any better (for me).
