Have you ever imagined what your set would look like, spec-wise,
if a major OEM put a model in their lineup inspired specifically by you?

What would the specs for the whole lineup look like?

I don't know why I even imagine stuff like this,
but it always interested me.

Anyway, I suspect this thread will go down like a tungsten balloon,
but I'm going to offer it anyway.

For my own set, I would take all ten irons, one of the higher loft drivers, the 5-wood and the 7-wood.

Bonker 10°
Basher 13.5°
Baffy 17°

A-Series irons. (Later models can be called B-Series, C-Series etc)

2 - 17°. 3 - 20°. 4 - 23°. 5 - 27°. 6 - 31°. 7 - 35°. 8 - 40°. 9 - 45°. 10 - 50°.
Lofty - 58°.

I would like a Deeg putter. (Afrikaans for dough)

After dreaming up my desired lofts for a set of irons last evening, I searched for a current set that might fit the bill.
Ping G730 in "power spec" are the ones that come very close.
There is no 17° available, but they go,
20°, 23°, 26.5°, 30.5°, 35°, 40°, 45°, 50°

Of course, the numbers are out by 2, but I could fix that with bits of masking tape and a marker pen.

Or maybe Ping would make me a special custom set where the 40° club is an 8-iron and not a pitching wedge.

Oh wait a minute - I already have such a set - Ping Eye2 BeCu has 40° 8-iron.

I would like to have a driver named after the size of the head in cubic cm (CU) and the amount of force that can be delivered in Newtons (NT).

I'll say one thing.
It would be much easier for recreational players to play with a few fewer clubs
if the OEMS would only offer wider gapped irons sets.

Playing with just odd or even numbered irons leaves gapping that's TOO wide.
It's a half-assed solution to a problem that's so easily solved very effectively.

What would be so hard about this?

utility long iron......20°
5-iron...................25°
6-iron...................30°
7-iron...................35°
8-iron...................40°
9-iron...................46°
pitching wedge.....52°

I swear, I'd rather own a big OEM than be a +4 player.
I have so many ideas.

My set is perfect but I'd just rename the PW and AW to 10 & 11 iron in order to remove the farcical situation of having five "wedges" (in name only). Since they are irons anyway.

Edit: Actually, I would soften the lofts of the 6 and 7 a little bit, because they do seem to run out a long way at 24.5° and 27.5°, and I feel like the gap between my 7 and 8 is a little too big sometimes. If the 6 was 25 and the 7 was 28.5 that would probably work better. (The 8i is 32)
