I'm with Faery, 8 iron for me, bridges the gap between middle and short, and they must be shiny shiny, good thing about wimmin is they cannot tell them apart so it's easy to smuggle a new set in right under their noses providing you can keep your hands off them for a few days till the newness wears off.

My ex-missus used to use one of my irons to get in if she had forgotten her key or accidently locked herself out by sticking it through the catflap to get to the door lock.
She never did realise I had changed my clubs despite going from steel shafts to graphite.

I look at the 7 & 8, at the same time cos I'm cross eyed.

8 or 9-i, usually because of the way they're displayed

Mind you. Some of the full set displays in the shops are a huge set of dominoes just waiting for some poor unsuspecting punter to come along!

I usually look at the 3 iron first as I think its where I can tell if I would like to hit them or not, get a feel for the weight etc usually followed by the 8 iron.
