Which clubs?

If what you are hinting at is - it's not the weapon, it's the plonker weilding it - then I'm 100% with you.

Benley reg V5 ASY. Nice ;) ;)

If that is the case, why did Woosnam fall apart when he changed clubs?

Dunnow - probably all in the mind but working negatively for him.

How many people here on the Forum go on about their latest new shiny clubs being the best thing since sliced bread, and nothing changes on their handicap?

The whole thing is just a marketing con imho :p :p

Smiffy, it is no coincidence that as you get older, you change to Ping. You have just done it yourself, and you aren't getting any younger.

The thing that attracted me to the i15's was the look. I know you find that a bit strange Murph, but I would have been interested in them whatever the badge. The fact it was Ping is by the by.
I looked at them, thought "I could hit them" so went for them.
I personally don't like the look of the current Nike line-up but if they bought a club out that really appealed to me I wouldn't dismiss them because of the name.

PS Just ordered the i15 3 hybrid to go with 'em
;)

I was really disappointed with Mizuno when I tried them, nothing wrong with them, I think I'd just heard so much about them I was expecting more. I've got some MP58's on loan for a week whilst my papermache R9's are being repaired, looking forward to see how they fair.

I am a huge fan of the I15's but they are the first model in yonks that I've liked from Ping. If I was a tour pro I'd want the club that made the most of my ability. I'd like to think that I'd remain faithful to themake that had got me there in the first place but the lure of the mighty dollar can sweep aside many consciences. At the end of it though its about confidence and that was what Woosie lacked when he started chasing the lucrative offers.

Not at all, although that has an element of truth to it.

I keep hearing that the top players don't use Mizunos because the other makes pay them loads to use theirs.
If the Mizunos were so good, the players would use them as they would earn more potentially per season than the "big makers" could pay them.

Do you think Lee westwood is using Pings today because he gets paid alot to use them while all the time he would prefer to use Mizunos?
It is my opinion that the elite players use what they want, not because of what they get paid, but because it's what they prefer to use.

There was an interview a couple of months ago with Westwood (can't remember which mag). He said something along the lines of he could play whatever he wanted to and be paid well for it, but plays Ping as he genuinely thinks it's the best.

Take Harrington as an example.....After his 3 majors he could have signed a contract with any manufacturer yet he stuck by Wilson.... I dont understand how Ping can demand 650€ i15's and then at the other end of the scale i bought my FG Tours for 450€....Whats the story with the extra 200 euro's for the pings doesnt make sense.

Depends on who is offering the money...and how much
if dunlop offered me 250739857 billion euros to play their clubs...yeah of course i would...reluctantly :D

They are only £445 4-pw here in Scotland ,Kid at the shop i use ,fitted, the Pings that is.
I went back to Ping because i wasn't good enough to get the best out of the MP52's and i'm i glad i did because i'm hitting the i10's great.

I saw i15's advertised for £421.00 (4-PW steel shafts) yesterday. Great price. A bit less than I paid for mine but I got a deal on the Tour-W wedge too so I'm still slightly ahead financially. And that was from my club pro so if anything goes pear shaped with 'em I feel a lot more comfortable knowing that he's on hand to sort them out for me.
