What's your world ranking?

We're currently having an office debate that I'm going to throw open to the forum. I just turned to Jezz and said, 'if there was a world ranking system for every golfer in the whole world, professional and amateur, what number would you be?'

Now, a couple of facts for you... There are about 60 million golfers, 10% of which are in single figures.

Jezz's answer was 4,500,036

Based on the facts above, what do you think your world ranking is?

PS - mine would be 4,500,035 - one ahead of Jezz and two ahead of Steve Williams

Believe it or not, they actually have a tournament to try to decide the worst golfer in the world... Saw a thing about it on TV and its the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen but it does exist....

In terms of what your world ranking is you could work it out pretty accuarately if you had the mean handicap for amateur golfers (something around 22 isn't it?) and the range (I guess +5 to 28 or something close to that...) as I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be distributed normally.

No way I could be bothered to work that out though so I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess that I am somewhere around the 1.5 millionth mark...
