whats your best drive ever

1st at the Old Course - closest i've ever been to an out of body experience.

17th at the Old Course - Blasted one over the O in HOTEL with a wee draw to the middle of the fairway, wont mention the second shot.

Back Tees 9th and 10th at Turnberry - Just an awesome setting, but terrifying into the wind.

Woke up one Saturday morning very hungover. Headed to the golf club at stupid o'clock with only a cup of coffee inside me and not feeling it at all. Tee'd up on the fist and hit a screamer of a first drive 325 yards. It landed perfectly in the middle. That was my best and only straight shot that day. Its also the furthest I have hit a driver in my entire life.

Just goes to show that if you don't think about it this golf mylarky is pretty easy ;)

My best drive wasn't necessarily my best drive - but it ended up as it because it was in front of a group of others.

On the 16th at Godstone, we'd arrived on the tee of a long par 5 only to be waved through by the fourball ahead of us, who were getting ready to play their second shot.

At this point I felt really nervous as I have a tendency to badly slice any shot with my driver - and I knew that there was a strong possibility this one would end up OOB.

The tee is raised quite high - about 30 feet up from the contour of the hole - and I hit what didn't feel like a fantastic tee shot. However, it flew dead straight, got a good connection, and soared over the fourball waiting down below, to finish on the fairway less than 10 feet from a little ditch that runs across the fairway. It was long, straight and - more importantly - performed under pressure in front of 5 other people.

The best part was when I walked to play my second shot I got congratulated by the fourball who were impressed I'd played a blinder.

Rest assured, I've duffed and sliced every other drive since.

Finding the fairway from the championship tee on the 9th at Turnberry, and most recently having hit my 1st into the gorse, left myself a 10ft putt for par on the 5th at Royal Aberdeen…

I walked off with a bogey :(

I can remember my WORST one.... snap hook off the 1st at Princes whilst Robert Rock was stood watching, Smiffy rolling a fag was my backswing thought  No one played well that day the conditions were severe to say the least. Robert Rock 3-putted about 8 times :D

I did Birmingham to Norwich in 2.5hrs last year! (Sorry, thats been done)

Through the middle hole, in between the windmill blades, down the slope and in the hole! No? Ok then.....

364yrds last September at Hagley GC 469yrd Par 5, 105yrds left to middle of green, PW on and 12ft putt for eagle went 8ft!! Adrenaline!

You cheeky fecker. I played superbly. Even Robert Rock commented afterwards that he had never seen anything like it. My glass was definitely half full that day.

7& and a half years ago,in a pairs match,on the first, tee,Idrove to 135 yards from the middle of the green on a 495 yard par 5. If only I could have bottled the swing. We won the match btw.

I hit a good one at Hankley Common last year in their invitation day. The longest drive competition was on their 18th hole and we were in the last group.

I went for a big hit and fortunately middled it. it must have had a good bounce down the hill as when we go there, I was 100 yards past the previous leading drive and I won the prize. Not sure how long it was but it is 432 yards off the white tee and I was about 5 yards short of the ditch in front of the green.

I was playing with last year's mens and ladies captains of Hankley and they said they had never seen a ball even close to this in all the years they had been there. As I said, must have had an incredibly long and lucky first bounce.

Snelly Hankley Common is a posh club and they call that a gully not a ditch. I am surprised at you.

Good hit though, you are getting up there with Swinger.
