i thought to myself if i hit this sweet it cauld go on green ,,,,teed up ,did the routine & hit the ball so sweet after follow throw i shouted 4

walked to the green 3 golfers still on green last one finishing putt there was a ball 4ft from flag on green they walked of the green leaving the ball behind

oh yes it was mine ,,regret to say made 2 putts giving me a birdy ,that was my best drive :D

the one time i played Murrayshall down hill down wind close to 400 yards. it was in a texas scramble and we didn't use it as the other guy in the team hit it 450 :(

Do you mean best or longest?

Best would be hitting fairway on 18 when you are one hole away from your best score ever or winning a tournament or match i.e. there is mucho self imposed pressure involved. That really means something.

Longest will likely be on a hard running links with a strong tailwind. Doesn't mean anything really. We've all done 300+ like that on the odd occassion.

The stonker I hit up the 18th to set up a 9iron + 2 putts for my 4 under par 66 last year.
I knew I was on a score and I felt a good deal of pressure on that tee shot.
To knock it 280 down the middle was extremely satisfying

I played a course in Northern Ireland once, about 7 yrs ago, drove around 300 yards.

For the life of me, I can't remember what course it was! Cue text to brother in law!

Landed on the fairway once

^^^^^ This.

Until a couple of months ago I hadn't played for about 7 years (had to sell my gear to pay the rent one month) and on my first proper round back after a couple of sessions at the range and the poxy 9 hole near me my best mate and ultimately very competitive buddy (we've sqaured off in 6 different sports with mixed results over the years) invited me to make up a four ball at his club. Signed in as a guest, paid my dues and off we went. Whilst walking around he was telling me about his new r9, custom fitted 200 quid best thing he'd ever hit etc etc. Had his swing measured for custom ball blah blah blah. Gets to 14th, (421yd par 4) 2 quid a man on longest drive and up he gets and catches a pearler, next guy goes left, the next right. Up I come and nailed an absolute beauty (you know the one which just felt good). To make matters worse the fairway is undulating and the balls were in a bit of a dip so couldn't see who won. My Donnay ball was 4 yards in front of his Titleist. Unsure of yardage but I took a 7 onto the centre of the green so I'm guessing 260 or so. It felt good reminding him that I bought a set of woods on ebay for £15 plus shipping and a free pencil bag.

Drove our 2nd 332yds 4th 381yds 10th 297yds 11th 347yds 12th 322yds 15th 392yds 16th 328yds 17th 398yds all off white pots aswel

Drove a short par 4 at out place once (308 yards), actually went through the green.

Saying that it hadn't rained for about 3 weeks previous, ground was baked and it plays slightly down hill
