What's up in your loft.

When we bought our house 20 years ago it was definitely a 'project'.
Built in the 1970's and nothing had changed.
Lady Doon and I had looked at what feels like 100 properties and nothing really 'moved us'.
We were both very quiet as the 'less than enthusiastic' dealer showed us round. Both thinking, well this will be a lot of work.
His words that the last tenants had been the band from Butlins, and that was 3 years ago, did not help.

He was ushering us out when he said, 'Oh I nearly forgot about the loft.'
He pulled down a lofty ladder to unveil a 66'X10' fully floored and dry walled loft. Big enough for a couple of eightsome reel sets.
In our eyes it immediately turned a spacious 3 bed into a potential 5 bed.

I put a bid in £5k under the asking price [considered very rude in Scotland with it's offers over system] and it was accepted.

Said loft has now become the dumping ground of three families unwanted 'stuff'.
Must have at least 20 paintings, three sets of golf clubs, umpteen bookcases, chests, folding beds, suitcases, kids games etc etc etc.

Oh joy of joys, just been informed by Missis T that now we have a new rug, cushions and throw the old ones can go up in the loft in case she wants to go back to red again. 😠

clothes and suitcases in the loft and flat boxes. Sold my house in Jan thinking i would find another pretty quick went into rented but still havent found anything so put alot of stuff in storage and i havent missed any of it. will probably sell most of it when i move.

Currently a few boards, and lots of rubbish - it's a sizeable loft, and I started insulating & boarding, but I have the attention span of a fish, and I started in the summer when it was too hot, so I've only done about a fifth. I'm going to rope my brother into helping me clear it, then the rest of the insulating/boarding won't be too hard - I can then move the stuff from the cellar into the loft, minus the stuff that hasn't been touched for three years, which is going to the tip.

Next project will be whatever we turn the cellar into, a gym is the current favourite.

It's a deal!

I'll be keeping the X31, they are 1 year older than me, when I first started playing again a few years back, the 7 iron was playing the same as a 9 iron, think I might give them a bash, along with the persimmon CHristy O'Conner Jnr woods I've got, 1, 3 and 4 woods, got a John Letters 2 wood as well

Books, Scuba diving equipment, paintball guns and old computer consoles. Turning it into a man cave over the next year so I can move in there when in trouble with the boss.

Stop it, you're making me jealous.

But yes, give them an outing, you might get the vintage bug! :)

if i could get into my loft [the dam thing is full of junk] i would find suit cases that will never be used again as they are so buried ,loads of carrier bags full of the wifes stuff, mainly material that she uses for her dressmaking and curtain making.there are box loads of photos of the wife ,she was a glamour model back in the day.and a stuffed SAILFISH that i caught whilst on holiday in Kenya ,not a huge one ,only about nine feet long.
the xmas decs are only just inside the hatch so are easy to get to but the rest will be there until i get around to having a loft ladder put in .

Hardly anything other than insulation now !!
Got loft insulation a couple of years ago and put all boxes etc in the garage and guess what ....... they are still there and nothing has been done with them
