Just been ragging Beezerk about being weak about ? Buying summat off eBay. Anyway I mentioned I had been in the loft.
Its like Steptoes parlour up there. Scalelectric, fancy dress, old toys. Full of stuff am gonna use one day.

Any Rammel up in your loft

There was a load of old crap in mine until I cleared it a few months ago.

I got a loft hatch and ladder fitted after years of threatening to get one normally around November when I had to get the Xmas deccies down.

I boarded it out and boxed the Xmas stuff and camping gear up and now I have 180ltr unvented hot water cylinder up there too. No more pishing about with step ladders for access.

Don't talk about it. My loft hasn't been opened for at least 15 years. Scalextric, guitars, teddy bears, LPs, you name it. My son is desperate to have it all released from its prison but I have resisted so far, even when I needed more loft insulation. When I go, then all will be revealed.

Intending to sell my house, bit by bit I have been having a clearout. Last time I went up in the loft I actually came down with nothing.

Now I have decided not to move I am accumulating a lot of stuff that I really should put in the loft.

Junk mainly but there is some decent stuff up there.

Hundreds of books and records.
Christmas decorations.
Kids toys and teddies.
More suit cases than I could ever fill.
Old electrical stuff such as DVD players and VHS recorders along with VHS tapes.
1000’s of old photographs from holidays and my time in the navy.
Golf trophies and score cards from places I’ve played all around the world.
But the most treasured possession up there is the ball that I shot my first ever under par round of golf with. A 3 under 67 in a medal:)

We moved in 3 years ago and long term I want a loft extension (and we also have a massive garage) so wanted to keep whats up there to a bear min

you have christmas decs, wedding memory stuff, suitcases and now little ones 0-3 month clothes (vac packed and sealed for the next baby to use)

my long term plan is loft extension with some small storage cupboards for this stuff to go in up there instead

In my flat I brought in August in the loft I found the following :O

The carpets from when the people I Brought from first brought the flat. I know this as they left the leaflet from when they brought it in the kitchen.
A guitar, bogey board, an old gar canister heater and gas canister.
A bed, wardrobe and bookshelf all broken down flat. a bar stool and many other bits of rubbish. Took an hour and a half of me passing stuff down to a couple of mates to load into a van!!

Amazing what junk people keep!!

My loft is an odd shape so nearly nothing up there. My mums loft however is huge, boarded out and rammed with "useful" stuff. I envisage a line of skips and one of those builders tubes leading straight from the loft into each skip when that fateful day arrives when she is no longer with us. It is going to be a heck of a job.

My loft is just like this one - excepting the golf ball. Though I may have the ball I shot my net 59 with up there somewhere - and certainly have a copy of my scorecard signed by my marker (got me into the Golf World Amateur Golfer of the Year Competition many moons ago - was played at a relatively young Tewkesbury Park golf club)

I wonder how many of us have stuff still in the boxes it was in when e moved in, I certainly did until very recently. And we'd been in our place 20yrs.

off the top of my head and without digging through the dust.

Two golf bags, one with a full set of Wilson X31 irons circa 1968
Two golf push trolleys
one Golf pull trolley
Scalextric
suitcases (varying sizes)
The full illustrated encyclopedia of aircraft all 18 volumes and the other one that came out a little later another 18 volumes, yes I was a plane geek back in the day.
board games
Other books on aircraft
A tent and inflatable mattress, used once by some friends of friends, who decided they didn't like camping and sold the tent brand new for a fraction of its value, we bought it and have never used it, I write we, I mean the missus.
Boxes of old bank statements and other paperwork like that, which came in really useful when claiming PPI as we had proof and won our claims.
Xmas Decorations
Old Style TV aerial
Boxes of computer parts

and that's just wor loft, at my dads, there are more golf bags, hopefully a box of my old vinyl, a vacuum (panasonic)

If I took all the crap out my loft and put it in a car boot sale I dare say we could make at least, at the very least, the nice figure of £15

When we moved in to this house 31 years ago it was only supposed to be a temporary location. A lot of boxes (prepared at the old house) went straight in to the loft. 20 years on they were still in the loft unopened.

We've been in this house since 1981, the loft is chokka. Old receipts from 20+ years ago, kids' old school work, all my LPs, now digitized, a spare electric trolley, umpteen suitcases & loads of other stuff from the last 36 years. If we moved house I'd need 6 months to sort out the loft.

The daughter ! had it converted so it's like a small flat.
Best thing we did its huge .
When she's out I watch the footy and golf up there as we have virgin media up there as well .
