talking about this with a couple of mates the other day and there were some corkers mentioned.

Mine was at Kilmarnock Barassie in a club match we had played Western the day before and been drinking well into the wee small hours, id even been sick, so was not feeling that great.

the first at Barassie is a par 5 with a Railway line up the right, My opponent was giving me the line and said don't hit it in the railway and laughed. Big block straight over the fence, it hit one of the rails and bounced back over into the middle of the fairway. And we won the hole with a pair of 4's.

Teed up my ball in a strong wind thinking it was a little skewed but I'll get away with it. Naturally the ball topples off during my downswing and I just catch the top sending it 3 yds. Avoided a lake in front of me though and made a safe bogey. Pillock.

While searching for my ball in a group of trees this year, without success, I noticed a ball in the middle of the fairway. Wandered over and, sure enough, it was mine. Must have bounced out unseen, a bit shorter than usual but in not bad shape. I made birdie.... Better to be lucky than good, as they say.

In match play I once "chunked" a 20 foot putt and thinking it was only going 3ft turned away and started berating myself out loud. Did the wee beaut not keep on trundling (dunno how) and dropped to win the hole. V. embarrassing

Not my shot but played with a gentleman who knifed a 40 yard pitch. This was going at least 40 yards over the green until it hit the wet fluttering flag, wrapped itself in the flag and dropped down to less than an inch from the hole.

Easy 3!

Hit a rubbish one off the 8th tee yesterday, bottomed out the driver a touch early and essentially fatted the life out of the shot, luckily, rather than dig in, the club bounced off the ground and I actually made a pretty clean contact. Minutes earlier, my playing partner had absolutely buttoned one down the middle of the fairway which was was very pleased with....my fatted driver was about 7/8 yards short of him.....he wasn't happy.

Wyke Ridge at a forum meet the other year, hit a worm worrying hybrid which skipped twice on the surface of a lake and jumped up to the edge of the green. Got up and down for par IIRC.

My best hole ever in my opinion!

Playing at Alcaidesa Links (Costa Del Sol); Par 3; can't remember the hole. I've shanked it massively to the left; hit a V shaped concrete drainage channel; the ball has spooned into the air about 35feet and landed to the back right of the green! Chipped and putted for Par. To say my bro-in-law wasn't impressed is an understatement, especially since I claimed the use of 'course knowledge'!! :fore: :whoo:

Hit a bridge on local Par 3 courses first hole, hooked straight to the left and it hit a the post of the bridge that you cross to the second hole about 30 yards left of the green, ended up bouncing back on to the green!!

That's easy (Homer will remember this): Playing a 4BBB match a few years back at RAGC, Homer and I were 1 down with two to play. I hit a huge pull hook OOB, it was so far over the OOB fence I thought it would be closer to Mill Ride than RAGC. When we got to the green my ball was sitting about 10ft from the pin and I duly holed the putt to take us down the 18th. We eventually lost on the 22nd.

horrible thin hybrid only to bounce and skip in for an eagle. Totally skanked it and acted like I made it happen!

I still have no idea how it got there. I never saw it even come back into play.

On a similar note. I carved my drive on 18 45 degrees right heading for the out of bounds. Made a hash of the provisional and took a very hesitant walk towards the OOB and there it was in play, with a nice full swing and sitting up a treat. 5 wood over the ditch, mid iron to 60 yards, pitch to six feet and a single putt later for par and the greedy money. There was some very anglo saxon language when I pocketed the cash

Saw a guy hit a skimmer across a lake on a par three. Never got a foot off the ground, took four or five skips off the water, up the hill in front of the green, hit the flag and stopped three feet away. Holed the putt. Net one.

Short par three at University Park in Bradenton Florida. Beautiful golf hole, elevated tee, across a pond, to an elevated green, plays about 160.

Cue snap hooked 8 iron, miles out of bounds. Trouble is, out of bounds left is an 8 lane free way, on a busy day.

Didn't hit a thing. Really got away with that one.

Not me but my 6 h/c brother in law

Teed up on the 18th at my old club, par 3 probably a 6 iron. Straight into the setting sun he pushed it high right, it landed on the clubhouse roof, ran down and straight through a beer glass that someone was holding, dropped onto the path and rolled to the green - amazing to watch!

Had a few, the terrible drive down the 6th at centurion that Rick found which I then peached on the green. Or the way I played the 9th to make par after rick found my original ball 3 times!

Lastly a hooked drive down the 10th at Whitby, followed by a thinned 6 iron to 15 feet, made par.

On our 17th over a lake from the tee, completely topped the drive, the ball skipped off the water a few times and I thought it was going to hit the wall banking the lake and drop back into the water. It didn't, it hit an over hanging bush spooned up into the air and landed on the fairway. It had about 6 skips on the water to get there :)
