What's the weakest part of your game and what are you doing about it?

Consistency for me. If the driver is working well then my mid irons and/or putting will be shocking. If i'm putting like a god then you'll guarantee it'll only be after getting to the green in 5 or 6.

At present though driver is the most frustrating. On Sunday was bombing it, dead straight. Hit our short par 4 in one, 6ft from the pin and won the longest drive contest. Played in an industry thing yesterday, swing felt the same, confidence was high but power drew/duck hooked almost every tee shot with driver!

My weakness is the bit between the ears and recently i've decided to treat every round as if it's my last and try to get as much out of it as possible. Concentrate on every shot, don't take on anything stupid, play the percentages etc. Managed to shoot to gross 77's twice in a row, one in a medal. Never had lessons and won't do now. I get one round a week and no time to practice and therefore have committed to making the very most of every round i get.

Being a braindead moron on a golf course is my biggest problem.

So I'm currently looking at what new wedges and maybe irons I can buy for next year

Varies week in week out, I don't practise. Was bombing the driver upto a week ago, and then was awful with it at the weekend.

So nothing will change, part of the fun of golf, you never know how it will go!

as a new golfer I guess i’m weak in most areas but i’ve been steadily improving since i began in july this year. hit my best ever front nine last week. 47. tried to keep that momentum up and hit my first ever sub-100 round but the back nine was absolute dog sl¬ít. 8 and 9 on the last two holes finishing up with 107. still, loads of positives to take away. my short game and bunker play has improved dramatically now i own a lob wedge but my driving seems to have gone away. if I was even hitting consistently inconsistent, i could perhaps legislate for that but when i address the ball now, i have no idea what i’m going to get.

Consistency for me. Miss too many greens and fairways to actually put a score together. Plus sometimes when I do get out of position it takes me a couple shots to get back in play so end up wasting shots. I make too many silly mistakes that I shouldn't.

Currently working on my swing to have a repeatable miss, had a two way miss going on this year that has hindered me from the tee. If I can get a consistent ball flight fro the tee then things will start going in the right direction. As for hitting greens, I had a real eye opener the other week when playing with a 3 handicapper. He has a range find with slope, obviously wasn't using the slope during competition but did mention that on the 3rd hole it plays about 10 yards longer due to being up hill. Now its a fairly flat par 4 that I had never really noticed that it was up hill that much. So have started to take more club into certain greens. Could really do with getting out with a range finder with slope and working out the actual distance for all approaches which I think you be a good help.

Other than that, I plan to get started on a course of lessons over the winter. Last comp is this Saturday so I can get started fairly soon, get in work over the winter and hopefully by the start of next season I will be playing better.

changed my swing path a bit last night , away from my in to out to a more neutral straight down the line or slightly out to in. Drove the ball much better though was down on distance on a few when i hit a fade, though that might be to do with consistency of strike as a couple that came out the middle where up there with my playing partners who all hit a good ball.... did feel strange though aiming left. Having a lesson tonight so will see what my Pro makes of it, as he's been trying to get me to do that more often, but i hate a fade:(

My 3i, 4i and 5i from the turf. Changing my swing to fix it and playing 5i as often as possible when I'm out for a few holes myself - even when I'd normally take a longer club, If I can't fix 5i then I'll never fix 3i and 4i. My pro thinks I should just get a lofted hybrid - but that's not me as it feels like I am admitting defeat.
