Interested in hearing people's views on this. I'm working really hard on my putting at the moment as its defo costing me a few shots a round. This and the random slice that happens now and again even though I could of been driving the ball, well for 90% of the round!

Long second shots. Lesson followed by practice. I don't get to practice enough though and as what I need to do doesn't come naturally it is an on going weakness. Some days are better than others but until I can practice more it will continue.

I have followed Imurg's method with regards to my putting. A nice shiny new putter is bound to solve that weakness 😁

Driving. Very inconsistent. Can boom it down the middle with the best of them but can also knob it of the tee with the worst of them. Don't no what I am going to do as hitting driver off the range ball after ball bores me rigid and my back wouldn't take it

Putting.

Thinking of tweeting McIlroy for tips it's getting that bad!

hiw I maintain 18 whilst regularly taking 40 putts is beyond me!

All areas of my game are poor, but short game is the one that annoys me. Particularly 100 yards and in. Should be up and down from there, or no more than 3. Trouble is, I often take 5 or 6 from there. Thankfully there's a pitch and putt local I can use. Ok, so it's like concrete under foot at the moment, so can't really rely on how the ball responds on the ground, but I am working on landing the ball where I want to. The added bonus is that my kids love coming with me and hitting a ball round.

Very similar to me mate!

Putting can not crack 35

Although maybe it is the fault of my approach and short play, not giving myself enough 1 putt opportunities

Putted terribly today, but it's my iron play that's the main issue. Putting is normally ok.

So, what am I doing? Zip, nada, nil, nothing.

Why?

Because I have a gimpy ankle, that stops me from transferring any weight in the swing. Driver is OK, irons, not so. It's only been a year, so may be in a couple of years it'll clear up, or, I'll go and see a physio.

Deep bunkers = a blob, 3wood of the deck somedays ok other days dier , and recently thinning the odd short chip .
Driving short but consistant ,irons ok, putting fair.

Putting.

Buying different putters whilst in complete denial that I can't ever and won't ever be able to putt!

Grip too tightly....I'm sure I know why Sergio went through his excruciating pre-shot routine a few years back...trying to keep a light grip pressure?...I try to remember to grip with just my fingers, and mostly with my smaller fingers.

My weak part seems to change form week to week. Seriously, I find myself unable to hit a fairway off the tee, slicing everything right, and then the next time I play it is fine again. Sometimes I make absolutely great contact with the ball on iron shots, hitting everything exactly where I want it, stopping the ball on the green where it lands ... just beautiful. Then in the next round I can hardly get the ball airborne. It can even happen in the middle of the round. Yesterday I played absolutely brilliant for 8 1/2 holes and then my iron game just stopped working and I started shanking it or not hitting the ball at all. I think, it is more an issue of losing focus or something mental than a technical issue.

I also struggle with short putts. I can hole them fine on the practice green (which makes it pretty boring to practice them ... it feels a bit stupid actually), but standing over a short putt during a round completely unnerves me.

driving is the problem at the moment which is confusing as before last year it was by far the strongest part of my game and hardly if ever missed a fairway. been using the 3 wood and 2 iron, but it can leave you with some long 2nd shots.

what am i doing about???... buying a different driver every couple of weeks ;)
