Whats the strangest thing you have seen on the course?

Not overly strange but certainly not run of the mill, a juvenile female adder on the 15th green at Wigtownshire County GC the summer before last; and she had more than enough attitude!

Are you a snake expert, or did you check physically it was female?

i freakin hate snakes, i would have run home if i saw that.

PS. on first quick glance, i thought it was a mr whippy style dog poo! LOL

Our 5th tee is about as far from the clubhouse as you can get - at least a mile....
In the bin by the tee I saw Golf Shoe box....

Not an expert but I have an interest in snakes and keep a couple.
It was the colour that led me to believe it was a she, a male would have been more likely to be tan/ black or grey/ black rather than that lovely reddish colour

A VW, sans wheels, in the middle of the 5th green of Musselburgh Old.

A fox emerge from bushes, nick a (yellow) ball and race off back into the bushes - Royal Ashdown Forest Hotel/West 17th.

A JCB that had fallen into the hole it was digging Foxhills Bernard Hunt 6th.

over the years i have seen plenty of strange things from couples having sex in the rough,a lady captain from a viserting club having a pee behind some bushes thinking no one could see her(all except the 2 groups on the 12 tee)and her blushes when we all clapped when she pulled her knickers up,but the strangest thing was at PRESTAYN GC a few years ago when a group of gypsys decided to pitch camp near the pontins side of the course and were using the fairways to race their horses and traps on.

A couple having sex against the wall at the 3rd green.

That's Embra for you - a bunch of culture vultures. You sure it wasn't some form of outdoor participation interactive art. Did the lassie have spikey blue hair, tartan trousers and doc martins? - and the bloke - centre parting, nice tweed jacket, chinos, brogues and elvis costello specs? They did? Nailed on Embra arty-farty stuff!

Sun bathers

No Joke

Sun bathers - minor league stuff compared with what dear old Filton GC in Bristol had to put up with when I was there. Big family picnic between 1st fairway and 17th green, swimmers and inflatable boats in the big lake etc etc. Also once witnessed a police car chase - from car park over putting green up 1st fairway and across 1st green then away down 14th and 15th to Pen Park. I think the car being chased smashed into a fence and hedge at back of course and occupants high-tailed it on foot. Left nice tyre and skid marks all over the place.

Travellers would camp on waste ground far end of Filton GC. They'd jump over the fence to get in (then smash it down on way back out); and break the sprinklers to the side of the 15th green. They would use this as a source of fresh water and wash their clothes in the flooded hollow to the side of the green.

Shocking! and to think I got irritated last year when one of the local farmer's cows got onto the course and paced out a couple of the fairways and a green

Didn't see it but heard it from my brother.

Steward at Downes Credition , Devon parks his car and goes into clubhouse not seeing it slowing rolling towards lake by the side of the 18th where it gracefully entered and slowly sank out of sight.

I was playing late one evening when a hot air balloon landed right in the middle of the 18th fairway!

Luckily I was about the last person out.

A family having a picnic on the first green at Wimbledon Common. They thought the nice mown grass would a good place for their kids to kick their ball rather than the long common grass. I tried to point out albeit from 240 yards away that it was a golf course (you'd have thought the flag was a give away). Ended up having to lay up so we could at least start the hole and get the game going and then walk up and explain. To be fair they weren't as difficult as they could have been but were totally non-plussed why there was this neat oasis of manicured grass with another not too far away. Not sure golf was in their volcabulary. Pitched on and 3 putted for a lovely double

I once saw a fire engine get stuck in the bushes/fence to the left of our 11th green.

To be fair they were trying to stay away from the greens and fairways, although I'd already told them an easier way (which they ignored). They were trying to get near a fire in the farmers field.

I've also seen a police car on our course and the police helicopter, veeeerrryyyy low over the course. I just need to see an ambulance for my hat-trick. With scousers' overswing, I may not have to wait too long.......

Had one a few back on our 10th. Had to get his van on the course and helped him pack up!!

Found an intersting looking stick which upon further inspection was the lower half of a deer leg (part chewed) by the side of one of our greens.

Also had a small plane land in the field next to our 10th once in a controlled emergency landing. Both occupants were fine.

Also as we are not too far from a MOD air base we have a fair few Helicopters some of which have been easliy hittable with a ball as they were so low. Sometime giving players a bit of a fright as they just seem to pop over the trees on one side of the course from what seems like out of nowhere.
