Actually both are run by Links Trusts are they not. Neither is a true municipal course as per those run by the local councils

Richart, i don't like how the old course & carnoustie price them selfs, after all the are council courses. And i believe if you are a resident of Scotland they should be £20 a round. I don't mind them charging tourists hundreds of pounds.

As a tourist I am more than happy to pay the going rate, well the shoulder rate anyway. Without doubt the best £100 I have ever spent playing the Old Course last year. The New course for £50 was not bad either !

The £150 for Trumps gaff is the most I have paid for a game of golf but I wouldn't hesitate to pay more for a top track.
