Following on from the trump thread. I'd never, ever pay more than 100 quid to play golf, and even then I'd think twice. I have much better things to spend my hard earned on when there are so many good value courses round about. An example is dundonald- love the place and yet to play anything much better. Max summer rate 80 quid i think

I'm playing Hawkstone Park in Shropshire in November as part of a work society.

Both courses (Hawkstone and Championship), 1 nights B&B + Evening meal, £60/person.

They have offers on all year round and both courses are immaculate.

I paid £396-85 at BREADSALL PRIORY this did included the cost of a new windscreen for the FORD ESCORT(yes it was a long time ago) i put my tee shot off the first through, massive hook over a tree and straight onto the car park.

Am fortunate to have played most of the UK championship courses before prices got to their recent levels, cant remeber paying more than £100 for 18 in this country, think the most Ive paid was 200 Euros at Valderrama and would happily pay it again

That good eh Steve?

Yep, best course Ive ever played even if it did chew me up and spit me out lol, a great challenge in perfect condition, my idea of heaven :) . Tend to have a sadistic nature in terms of the courses I love, Carnoustie in a gale another personal favourite lol

hmmm wuld probably goto £100 max for a top notch course but even then I would have to think long and hard about it, unless it was a forum meet with all you hackers then I would pay double that :D

It really depends on what you are looking for in a course. If someone turned around to me and said I could play something like Augusta then how much would I be willing to pay? I have played plenty of fantastic courses and not had to pay the earth. But then you get the top tour courses like Sawgrass, Pebble Beach etc etc, what would you be wiling to pay just to experience these places?

As a young Golf Pro people payed me to play with them on the likes of Sunningdale, Walton Heath, Gleneagles, RAC Epsom, Turnberry, Muirfield, St Georges Hill, Gullane, Burhill, Worplesdon, North Berwick etc.
Now in my retirement I would not pay more than £50 to play on any course.

I'd happily pay £200 for Augusta or Pebble beach but as has already been stated there are some excellent courses for £100 or much less.

I'd probably pay upto £300 although I couldn't justify paying that sort of money on a regular basis. Once or twice a year is the max though.

I'd love to play old head of kinsale, valderrama, muirfield, ballybunnion and these courses come at a price unfortunately. No pay no play.

£70 max and Grant at present Dundonald are offering 36 holes for £59!!!!!

Bargain.

I've paid £85.00 but that was a charity Pro-Am with loads of prizes and only at a local course.

I think I'd push to £100.00 for a top notch course but at the moment I don't think I would give a good course like that justice.
