What's in the Bag 2016

No changes up to now..

4 Wood- Ping G25
Hybrid- Adams A7
Irons- Mizuno MP 53
Wedges- Vokey 50 54 60
Putter- Ping IWI Anser

As per my sig

New 915d3 X-Flex driver. Not been hit in anger yet, but looks and feels better / longer than my previous i25 stiff (which was a cracker of a club). The i25 used to sail past the end marker at my local range in summer, the 915 is possibly going slightly further even with the reduced temps. Fingers crossed it will go well.

the only reason i bought a new driver was to try a stiffer shaft and i got the 915 for a steal. To be fair i am very, very happy with the entire bag.

The Adams Pro Hybrid is probably my favorite club currently as it is so easy to hit and was actually longer than an i25 3 wood i had a few months ago. Anyone looking for a Hybrid should seriously give one of these a blast

The DHY Hybrids are great but i think they fly to high for the windy conditions we have had over the last 12 months. I know Hybrids are traditionally a high launching clubs but these things go into orbit. The do travel at a serious rate of knots, but are pretty ineffective into a strong wind. No plans to change them though, unless i stumble across a couple of cheap 20 and 24 Pro Hybrids.

Titleist 915D3 driver
Callaway XR 3 wood
Callaway XR 19° hybrid
Titleist T-MB 4 iron
Titleist AP2 5-PW
Mizuno MP-T5 50° & 54°
Callaway MD2 58°
Scotty Futura X5

Hybrid replacement due in a couple of days, might switch between the two depending on course and conditions.

Bridgestone e6 through the winter and I'll be back on prov1x around the middle of March to give myself a couple of games to get used to them again before the season starts.

Everything in my bag is pretty new except for the putter, 5 wood and wedges.
The putter & 5 wood will most likely stay, but I'm looking to get some new wedges this spring.

Only things that may change are driver and 3 wood....

Currently:

Cobra Fly Z + Driver
Bridgestone J38 3 wood
Bridgestone J38 5 wood (or Nike Vapor hybrid or 2 iron, maybe at expense of 4 iron....)
Cobra Fly Z + 4-PW
Bridgestone J40 52, 56 and 60
Bettinardi half mallet putter

Hello mate, do you know what your swing speed is with that shaft and driver?

Same as last year, more than happy with the clubs I have.

Mizuno JPX850 Driver, Fairway & Hybrid
Mizuno 825 Pro irons 4 to 9
Cleveland RTX 1.0 wedges 45, 50, 56 & 62
Odyssey 9 versa putter

No changes planned unless I win a substantial amount on the lottery.

As per sig - not currently planning any changes.

3rd year for the woods, 5th year for the irons and putter..... Hmmm... big swing changes since I was custom fit though..... I wonder... ;)

what happened to the Mizuno driver?

Still got it, it's good but I just prefer the Callaway. If I really feel like spending money I guess I could go for a fitting to get an optimum setup between the two heads and whatever shaft options are available. Somehow though I don't think it would make much difference.

What happened with the 54's v the XR's mate? Did you not bother in the end?

He probably bought them both, played 2 rounds with both of them, then stuck them in the shed with the rest. You'll never take those 53's out of his bag.

Wolfy is close:)
I didn't buy the XRs though.

I just need to stop wasting money on Golf Clubs Dave, especially irons.
I love the Mp53s and they've served me well, they're superb when I'm playing well but unforgiving enough to tell me when I'm not.

Going in Chilli dip doesn't help though.
Its a good job those Vega's didn't work for me when I tried them out! :D

I'm guessing the Callaway goes further, due to the longer shaft. still got the Xhot2 pro in the locker.. might give that an outing next time i play... which judging by the forecast might not be this weekend:(

There isn't much in it but Callaway probably averages 10 yards or so further in total but has a more pleasing ball flight and, I think, carries a fair but further - more run out with the JPX.

The shorter shaft on the Mizuno helps with confidence at address but I'm relatively straight off the tee most of the time with either so don't feel the longer shaft hurts.
