What's in the Bag 2016

I know some folk have their clubs in their signatures but lots don't and many are out of date.

So what's in your bag for 2016. Is your bag all set for the season ahead or are you still in the process of changing? Or is it the same as last year?

I've just completed a re-shuffle ahead of the new season. In 2015 I had a Ping G30 driver, 5 wood, 23 hybrid, G25 irons from 4-PW, 3 Vokey wedges (50,54 and 58) and finally my TaylorMade Ghost Spider Si counterbalanced putter.

For 2016, the G25's have gone and been replaced by a set of TaylorMade MC irons. I have 4-PW but starting the season with 5-PW in the bag. I have added a 5 hybrid to replace the 4 iron and as the PW in the TM MC's is 47 degrees, I've replaced the 50 and 54 Vokeys with a 52. This left one space in my bag so I've added a Ping G30 3 wood as it's a good club for me off the tee and more reliable than the driver when accuracy is required.

Still not decided between the TM Tour Preferred or Tour Preferred X for which ball to use this year as I haven't hit the 2016 model yet but no point doing any testing till it dries out a bit as everywhere is still a swamp round here at the moment.

Exactly the same as I finished 2015 with. Although, that's probably because they haven't been out of the car boot since the beginning of November. Hard to fall out with something if you don't use it.

Oh no Gerry – the Nikes didn’t make the cut then ?!

Driver:
Managed to get my 915 D3 quite recently. The pro at my local range managed to get me it from the rep who used it as a showpiece Driver. It had never been hit before so it was practically brand spanking new at £230. Got fit for it but I havent been using it in 8.5 since the grounds wet so cranked the loft up. Hit some absolute monsters with it on the course at the weekend with 2 being 300 yarders which is super long for me. 20 yards on average longer than my Vapor.

3 Wood:
I hate my SLDR S at the moment. The club head just feels to heavy to me and its dead crap unless its pured. I like the shape an its low profile to its good off fairways but its really got me doubting it. Out the middle it goes miles but its not working. Looking at replacing to be all honest, the XR from last year looks good.

Hybrid:
My favourite enough said.

Irons:
Well I have had my new 716s for a while now and I wrote a review on them - http://forums.golf-monthly.co.uk/showthread.php?81297-Fitting-Experience-and-AP2-716-Review

Really really pleased with them but aren’t the longest irons on the market as they produce pretty average distances. These will be in my bag until they literally get used to the point of no return.

Wedges:
50, 54, 60. All different finishes and SM4 and SM5. Cant see my changing these in the next 5 years.

Putter:
Had my Versa #7 for about a year. Im a great putter from 15 ft in. However I struggle with pace on long puts massively and it’s the biggest flaw in my game by far.

Ball:
I have been using Srixon Soft Feels and Callaway Supersofts as they feel great off the putter. They seem to spin far too much though so probably will be switching since I probably only lose a ball every other round. Suggestions would be welcome. I have been given a sleeve of Pro V1x to try but they are far too expensive.

I guess it's gonna be March until the bag for 2016 may be finalized..

The complete top end of the bag (driver to hybrids) has yet to be figured out..

What im looking at in 2016 is new Wedges to go with the new irons that i bought recently. A new flatstick as my putting is so up and down since i switched to this one and my old one is nowhere to be found (Think my mum through it out when i left home!) Im very temped to try a new driver as well, my current one is only 12 months old but i do love a good change!

I have a set of Dunlops that cost me £60 including the bag. I had to buy the tees and balls as well though

I chop and change the putters, but am favouring the Scotty at the moment. The 3 hybrid is new and may take the place of the 3iron, but still up for grabs at the moment.

The only thing I may buy this year is some replacement wedges, if I see a good deal.
