What's in the Bag 2016

See my signature. I have recently added a Cleveland 588 60 degree lob wedge and today I bought a Cobra Fly Z 5 wood. However not so far getting on with it as well as the driver. It feels a bit stiffer shafted and lighter to swing than the driver, although they both have Regular shafts. May have to play around with lead tape to get it feeling right. My current putter is an Odyssey Works No 7 cut down to 33" and fitted with a Super Stroke Slim 3.0 grip. :)

you were robbed, when i got my starter set of Dunlops, i got tee's and balls thrown in... even got a brolly and towel ;)

Yeh, but these have graphite shafts, and writing on the back of the heads. To be honest, I have two pros look at them and both say they are OK. I use a cheap and old Callaway driver, a couple of hybrids which didn't come with the package, which I use quite well, but the star of the pack is the 5 wood which was part of the deal. The club is worth next to nothing, but I strike the ball really well with it and it goes straight and far. I can't help feeling that some people are dragged in by the hype of a brand name

Changed a few bits in the last few months. New irons, driver and driving iron. Only putter and sand wedge survived. Happy with everything so far and will likely stay that way for a while. I just need to get a new wedge to fill the gap between my PW and SW, which I'll get before the season starts up proper again.

Depends on how I feel on the day at the top end. Not usually more than 3 from;

Driver, g10 or sldr. Gonna have a conserted go with the ping
Mini, sldr
5 wood, g25 or the new in transit cobra 5-7 wood
7 wood, srixon w302
Hybrid, g20 17*

Irons, mizuno jpx850 5-w
Wedges, tm tp EF 50+56
Putter, nc sub 30 type 10

Other than the incoming cobra, and maybe a driver, NOTHING ELSE....

Hello mate, do you know what your swing speed is with that shaft and driver?

Good question mate

Honestly i am not sure, however from memory it is about 113 (might be totally wrong)

That was from a track man session about 18 months ago. I have actually just bought a swingbyte2, which will arrive this week. Apparently the SS accuracy is in line with a track man, so i will find out soon enough.

He probably bought them both, played 2 rounds with both of them, then stuck them in the shed with the rest. You'll never take those 53's out of his bag.

:D

Wolfy is close:)
I didn't buy the XRs though.

I just need to stop wasting money on Golf Clubs Dave, especially irons.
I love the Mp53s and they've served me well, they're superb when I'm playing well but unforgiving enough to tell me when I'm not.

Going in Chilli dip doesn't help though.
Its a good job those Vega's didn't work for me when I tried them out! :D

I had a bash of the Vegas and i was not a fan at all. They were not what i was expecting and felt a bit harsh in comparison to Mizzies. I thought they would be (wait for it.......) buttery :D soft. Cant remember what shaft was fitted, but they never really went anywhere either.

Not tried one of those sexy drivers as yet though.

:D

i thought exactly the same. I think the stock shafts are called Shimada, never seen them before but the heads felt harsh and the shafts we're dead.
Not what I expected at all, probably for the best though.

Are you still going Nomad?

that was the problem with the woods the graphite shafts were like fishing poles.

The steel shaft in the irons was much better.

its not so much the name, its better quality shafts.

of sorts

Thinking of doing the Flexi package of 20 rounds, need to make my mind up really

Thinking is that i could use the 20 rounds for my after work midweek summers evening games. Gives me the ability to play other courses.

You staying up there or coming back?

The 13 clubs that were in my bag at the end of last season will remain. Very happy with them all;

Cobra Fly Z + Driver
915 f 5 Wood
915 h 21 degree
JPX 850 Forged 5 - pw
Cleveland 588 50, 56 & 60 wedges
Scotty X5R

Have an ambition to get my 4i in play. If pigs fly I'll likely swap it with the Hybrid.

Space for a 3 w. Come pay day (tomorrow) am gong to start looking at options.

Intend to take my time rather than rush it, but we've all heard that before

Going back to my Spiritual home of Chorley :D

I suppose if you still want that Club member feel then the Flexi makes sense and you can't beat it up there on a sunny summers night.

Hang on

You leave when i arrive and now come back when i depart......

Bloke could take that sort of thing to heart:D

Saw a nice set of orkas the other day

After a bit of testing I've got the following ITB

Ping rapture 12 deg driver
Ping G5 15* 3 wood
Ping G10* hybrid
Jpg pro 800 4-pw
Mizuno mpt 11 54* wedge
Cleveland 588 58* wedge
Odyssey #7 xg putter

I very much doubt it'll change neither.
