We have posts for 150 yards, and distances on fairway sprinklers covers. Must admit I rarely see the ones on the fairway, though I did find one that said I had over 300 yards into a par 4.:o

For those with disks/stones in the fairway, do you see this as an issue or have you had any issues with them?

Yellow for 100, red for 150 and white for 200 yards. Its plates sunk into the fairway. Tend to just work off them all the time, never carried a GPS or a laser thingmy. My mate carries a sky caddie and says the only time that he finds it handy is when he is miles off line.

We have a "150 yard" post on one side of the fairway which was measured directly from the centre of the green rather than measuring to the centre of fairway and putting the marker post level with that point. So, level with the 150 yard marker means anywhere between about 140 and 145 yards depending on how wide the fairway is!!

Local knowledge is handy in matches so they say! :D

We are exactly the opposite..!!
The 150 disc in the fairway is measured and the posts placed on the edge of the fairway in line with the disc.
So the posts are out!
To be honest I'm not convinced by any of them so always measure distances myself..

I'd always thought that was the way they were supposed to be done. You get level with the post on the fairway and start counting paces from there.

I chose 150 AND none, as they go walkabout so often! :(

Sometimes it's just the lazy "grass cutters" not putting them back.
