Im sherman free these days but do hit the occasional fat chip when the ground is very soft. did it on our 10th which is up quite a substantial hill and only for the fairway not being cut the previous few days, it didnt come all the way back to my feet.

Matchplay, 3up on 16th, my mate has just thinned it over the green to a horrible downhill lie on a bank behind the green, I'm in the fairway with 100 yards to go. All I need to do to secure the match is hit the green and 2 putt, advantage me. Fat it 40 yards. Worst of the day by miles.

Thankfully I put it to 3 feet with my next shot, which was probably my best shot of the day... And closed it out.

I either didn't hit any particularly bad ones or I was in a particularly relaxed mood as I didn't have to swear at myself at all :D

Played at Sundridge Park with Leftie, Chrisd and JustOne last week.
6th hole is an uphill par 5, and since I last played it they have put a small (very small) pond to the left of the green.
I had about 130 to go, and James asked what I was hitting. 9 iron came the reply. He mentioned how tight the little pond was to the left of the green, I told him I had no intention of going anywhere near it.
Enter stage right a fatted, pulled 9 iron that bounced one and caused some ripples.

Can't call it a shot as I never hit the ball, but when trying to loft one over a bunker my wedge sailed right underneath the ball came out the other side and the ball never moved....

Needing a par 4 on our last for a decent cut on Saturday I decided to play safe with a 3 wood off the tee. The safe shot turned into an 80 yard duff along the ground into the rough and a triple reared its ugly head.

Where do I start? At our par-4 2nd hole today I duffed my tee shot with a driver only about 50 yards forward. Then hit a good hybrid to about 100 yards from the hole, shanked a wedge well right of the green, airmailed another wedge right over the green, a fairly good chip back on, missed a shortish putt for a 6 and holed out for a 7. Plenty of candidates there. Also managed a double hit trying to chip onto the 1st green! :(

After realising I was having a really good round I stood on the 17th and hit a massive snap hook into the trees OOB about ten feet infront of me! Reload and only slightly better as it went into the trees about 100 yards further up! Had a members bounce out though!!

130 for you sounds more like a 6 iron. No wonder you didn't make the carry.
