to even things up from Gareth's post about your best shot from the last round.

What was your worst?

mine was a sherman with a 5 iron on Saturday. on the par 3 sixth hole at Nairn. straight into the Mirram grass as the back of the walker cup tee by the sea on the 7th.

I did find it though:(

Playing a 9 iron on a short par 3, closed the face over at impact and hit an ugly pull/hook into a greenside bunker. Made bogey on what should have been a very easy hole.

A block straight right off our 6th tee.

OOB and 3 off the tee. That was the only real blemish in my round.

Probably my drive on the 14th, which caused me a lost ball. I hit a pull hook into the trees and couldn't find it. I hit the exact same shot on the 10th, however, I managed to find the ball and play it (though I did make 7...!)

Had about a 20 foot birdie putt on our 17th...
Either complete misread, brainfart or whatever but didn't get it within 6 feet and missed the 2nd putt.
Was on for a +1 back 9 before that..

Hard par 4 - good 250yd tee shot into perfect position in middle of fairway. 135yds to middle of green - so simple 9i. Struck it sweetly but 20yds right of centre of green up onto level heathery bank - just stupid. However ball lying well and clear of heather. But tried to be too cute with pitch to make up for my poor approach, quit on it and flopped it onto side of bank and horrid place. Took a 6 :(

Several candidates come to mind (1) the horrible sliced drive that led to my 'best shot of the round' - see other thread, (2) a chunked chip shot on the 16th after a sweetly struck drive, (3) a sweetly struck 4 iron right into the fairway bunker in front of the green at 17 - no excuses for choosing the wrong club -duh!

Had two drives on our 4th.....first one straight pull left into the trees (tee the other side) so massive shout of fore left......re-load and did the same thing again, massive shout of fore left followed by laughter from those on the tee at the 7th tee. To be fair it was funny.

Most of them after the 15th green yesterday.

Hooked drive on 16, thrash from the rough, shank into bunker leading to a triple.

Sliced tee shot on 17, thinned chip leading to a double.

Sliced tee shot on 18 into heavy woods, pulled provisional into woods, pulled 2nd provisional into woods. NR.

Take your pick, they were all rubbish.

Missed the green with 3rd on par 5 and too tight to a tree and tried one of those limited swing chunk shots towards the green to get ball back into play, you know the ones, the shots that never pay off... It didn't pay off!

Last Tuesday again .. 17th sharp dog leg par 4 , tee shot didnt go far enough to leave a clear shot .. 220 r so to the front with the corner in front of me .. anyone could take their medicine and 8 iron over the corner but not William ..

Could visualise this beautiful 3iron cut shot around the corner running to the green in my mind , thing of pureeee beauty ,ha , eh no ..

reality was a topped 3 iron out of bounds led to a scratch and inevitably a .1

Had a smiple ship up the 15th green at fairhaven on Saturday and didnt get it halfway to the hole. It was the worst as it was the 3rd time that round and i told myself to land it next to the flag as the greens were soft. Still couldnt bring myself to hit it though !!

220 straight down the middle with driver. 170 left, pulled out rescue (which I have never hot well and only ever get around 150 out of it) hit the sweetest shot of my life.........ball flies about 15 yard straight past flag and in to bushes about 8 foot up.

Still felt bloody sweet though

3rd shot at the first. Tried to be too cute with a chip on and chunked it into the bunker about 10 yards in front of me

Thankfully my game picked up after that and had a good round.

I pulled my 2nd shot on si2 into a deep, high sided bunker that had compacted sand and some water in it. I had 2 fruitless attempts to get out and on the 3rd go I decided to take it clean and we'll never see that particular Pro V1 again!

4th hole - driver out the bottom, bladed iron, 2 putt par :)
12th hole chunked 8i followed by wedge that missed the green from 70yds :(
