Following on from the 53 stableford points thread over the past few days, I'm curious to know what everyone's highest stableford score is. This can be from an actual stableford comp or a medal (I.e. What was your handicap cut by and work back to stableford).

Do people think there's a particular point where banditry raises it's ugly head? I saw virtuocity had a great round at the weekend (45 points?) and there is obviously no hint of banditry about it - he's worked hard on his game and he's got his rewards. In my opinion, it's impossible to judge without knowing the context to go with the score.

Anyway, post your best scores and stories here, how did fellow members react to your great score?

i had 42 this weekend in a club comp, i think my highest was 44 in a society off the yellows a while back and i still got beat!

42 i think - corperate day and I was shocked to win as there have been some very high scores in the past but it was wet and windy so in general the 'regular' golfers tended to do better.

45 off 15, played the 6th to the 18th in 2 over.

Makes you think what I was doing over the first 5 holes really.

Years ago my partner off 7 and myself off 2 managed 44 points round the RAC Club in a stableford foursomes. [Morning round of a society day!]
It included one amazing eagle featuring a 3 wood and a 200 yard carry over trees from the wrong side of an adjoining fairway.

If you mean ever then 50 points. Shot 67 gross off 9 when I was a kid. It was the first comp of the new year and Id improved a little over winter :) Got cut to 5 that day and lower still the following week when I shot under par again! (oh to be as good as I was then now lol)

I shot 45 points this weekend, 23 out and 22 back in with a blob in each set of 9.

I felt a little embarrassed to be honest, but I know I shouldn't, I've worked hard at my game over the winter and this is the result. I'm not a bandit by any stretch of the imagination. Won't stop the moaning though, but what can I do? I'm not really interested in winning comps - I want to get my handicap down and wining comps is inevitable along the way!

44 points off 9, first comp of the year but I had a few lessons in the weeks before. Included a blob at the last par 3 when I went for a flag near the water. Too near the water as it turned out.

I live and play golf in SW France. It seems that irrespective of past playing experience you have to start with a H/c of 54! This has produced some interesting stableford results. Not least when a young NZ professional rugby player who regularly strokes a 3 wood 280m entered his first comp - 85 points.

37 points in a semi serious comp as part of my yearly trip to Scotland with 2 blobs on the card. Probably my best round ever

In a comp I've only ever played in 2 and scored 21 and 28, so not great (bit of an understatement!)
