What's your average and best score?

Never nice to hear about someone's computer breaking down, but especially worse at this time of year.

Ta for that. To be honest we had the previous laptop for about five years and the guy in the shop seemed surprised it was going as well as it was for as long. They've sent it away to be looked at (and a quote) as it's out of warranty clearly. Even if it comes back functional and the cost is worth it, HID can use it for her surfing and stuff. Bit annoyed as all my stuff is on it and while I can get it back and transfer it at some point, I'm PC illiterate and it's a faff. Time I could be spent crafting a beautifully sculpted blog or working at the range :cheers::thup::rofl::whistle:

Two courses at my club:

Carrickstone - Par 70/SSS 70
Antonine - Par 69/SSS 69

Average = 88.11
Best = 83
Worst = 92

Handicap came down from 15.7 to 13.3.

since i joined my current club back in 2011
[before that it was twenty plus years without playing]
my best score has been 75
worst 95
average 86.3
course is a par 70 sss of 69
h/cap is 13.9

Manage to export my stats from the old PC to the new one. Turns out my average this year is 86.96 against a par of 70, so playing significantly above handicap this year. Not good but I'll try harder next year

So we both managed an average of just under 17 over par with a handicap of 12, so that's probably about right! If my handicap was based on my average score it would be about 17. On my best score it would be about 6. Actual handicap of 12 is somewhere in between. The standard deviation for my scores is a bit over 4, so your handicap is about 1 and a bit standard deviations below the mean. Both the CONGU and USGA systems come to about the same result by different ways! :mmm:
