I would like a hat like that! Although I did drive through the back of a par 4 green a couple of times this month, it's only a wee one and the wind was blowing.
I learned that the golfing gods are ok with me at the moment but I do still anger them now and then in a round.

I played with him at Bearwood AND the following day a his gaff unfortunately! Bearwood was lovely. Shame I played like a total knob. I did birdie the par 3 14th though.

I had a dream that I saved the planet from distraction and my reward was a lifetime membership to Bearwood and a house backing onto it. I then woke up and was hunting for a Rizla in a draw I have not been in for time and found my Bearwood card. I birdied the 8th and did not shoot worse than a 6 all day.
I would like to see the forum bomer Swinger v Fundy. My boy puts it out there too! It's something to see guys like that strike balls.
Glad you had a good time, shame you did not play as you would like.

I've not had the pleasure of playing with Fundy (yet!) but I would bet my mortgage on Swinger winning that battle. If you'd seen him hit a drive, you would know what I mean. I've played with and seen a few guys hit a long ball (justone, pieman etc) but Steve's length is just in-human.
It was a shame about how I played, but gives me an excuse to go back! We saw MikeH who teed off just after us and I think he had a worse day than me!

I know there's plenty on here that hit it further than I do, but I've had the pleasure of fundy's company once and he was hitting his 3 wood past my best drives.

Gary - there are not many that hit it past you mate! You hit a great ball. As Jon says though, Swinger is in-human! He hit a 3 wood 340 down 10 just shy of the new lake. On 13, he drove through the left side of the green!
Apparently we have a new tour pro who plays at our place who hits it miles past the other young pros who play there - our assistant pro told me that he is 50 yards longer thn the others and they are not short - he quoted driver 9 iron off the blacks to our 560-yard 16th - that might even be beyond Steve but it would be great to see them do battle!

For the record, I really don't want this to turn into a 'my mate is bigger than your mate' thread as they're both top blokes who can hit the ball a long way so it doesn't matter.

I can get the odd one or two out there but it just depends how lucky I am feeling!!
I would argue that it would be impossible to tell who is a bigger hitter overall as some days are different than others for all players and some shots suit certain players eye and game more. Then there is always some putting to do at the end of most holes!
Hitting a fairly long ball is good fun and great to be able to do but it can bite you in the ass a hell of a lot!!
