what "flips your lid"....

Oops! I left off the 'wink' smiley..... but you got my drift

Nothing gets my back up, certainly not cruddy trivial things.... I'd rather green keepers set the course up better (perhaps by cutting some of the knee high rough that REALLY causes slow play and not where people leave their bags) and (for example) cut fresh holes more frequently. Crap committees is another thing... but there's nothing an individual player can do that really irritates me... they can chit-chat, jangle their keys in their pocket, walk all over my line - it really doesn't bother me.

Oh yes..... wait.......... cheating!! THAT gets my back up

i understood what you meant and to be fair , its really trivial but i all i ask is look where the next tee is and leave your bad accordingly. Your right though in regards to slow paly, my gripe isnt the cause of it, but hard course set up would be the more wiser answer, mixed in with golfer who like a "leisurely stroll" in the middle of a busy round and people not calling you through when they have lost some ground etc......

Nothing really flips my lid although someone flipping theirs almost did me today - I was just about to play a wedge into the 12th green when a bloke started practicing on the nearby par 3 6th to the evident displeasure of the two blokes waiting on the tee, one of whom decided to bellow "YOU MUST BE ******* KIDDING, GET OF THE GREEN YOU ****" and took off in his buggy to have words just as I was halfway through my swing. Fortunately I managed to check my swing, but that did start to irritate me a little!

Chokers!

Basically people who talk the talk and then cannot back it up when it counts. Golf Clubs are full of people who are playing well until they get on the course.

People who do stuff all all round, and then stiff it on the last for a birdie, using an iron of dubious distinction, after a 200 yard top off the tee.

The one that really gets me is when someone that has such a terrible slice they aim 100 yards left of target off the drive and it slices onto fairway and everybody says yes great shoot!!!! Im sorry that is a horrible shoot and people who think that is a great must be blind

Eh? The target on the tee is to hit the fairway and that's what the person has done. Is a draw that starts 20 yards right of the fairway and ends up in the middle also a bad shot?

Play to what you've got... not much point aiming down the middle of the fairway if you know your stock shot is a 100-yard slice...

You might not av heard of him but theirs a player called Bubba Watson,he doesn't exactly hit it straight but he's won a few decent comps

Fair enough what you are saying but it is not a great shoot it is a carve, just does my head in when people say great.. all distance is reduced due to slice, and sometimes the ball will not slice and go straight and end up ob. i had a round with a guy last week and he lost 9 balls in a row after 5 went straight into the field he was aiming for he then aimed for the fairway guess what. slice came back another 4 ob.. Your better trying to fix a problem than learning to live with one.. Guys im not looking for a showdown ok just replying to the ops thread OK

Some people don't have the time, money or inclination to fix their faults, they just want to go out and enjoy the game to their own level. For them, hitting a 100yd slice onto the fairway is a great shot.

Live and let live.

people who dont repair pitchmarks...

and players behind you playing at you when there's nowhere for you to go because of the group in front............ today we were putting out when a ball hit the green and rolled through us to the back of the green........... I let it go as it was a long hit on a blind tee... but we hadn't rung the bell yet!

No showdown, and I agree to a degree - in a classic sense it's not a great shot, but at least the guy in your original post has kept it in play. But you're right, if the only way you can keep it in play is to allow for a vicious slice, then a visit to the local pro might be a good idea...

Its not easy to judge a 100 yard slice into the fairway :D

I do agree with principal of what your saying though
