Just moved clubs and they call there make up and play a Rollock meet up at 11 then make 3's of 4's and play for the £2 entry fee.

The point of the post was to see what differnt names this sort of thing get's called. My 1st club Waterstock(oxon) called it the Tea pot, 2nd club Town Moor(Doncaster)its the Fiddle, Wheatley (Doncaster) its the Rollock.

We have been told we are no longer allowed to call it a swindle, and that officially it is a roll up.

Swindle is a more apt name. First time I played in it, I had 42 points, and came 4th in a count back.

They are known as greedies at my place. Same deal though. £2 in the pot and winner takes all (sometimes split between 1st and 2nd depending on numbers). Balls into a bag and drawn for partners. There is one that is a bit of a law unto itself called the Hooded Claw which is supposedly open to all but is really a closed shop of lower handicappers. That said the main weekend greedie is pretty fierce in terms of talent and especially the banter

It was the Teapot at my first club - I used to run it and got bored with the money going in a tin so I found a large purple Teapot at a car boot sale. They're still using it 10 years later.

It's a ROLL UP at our place, and there's one every week day, £2 in the pot.

I think they should rename it as ROLL UP isn't politically correct now that I've given up smoking... perhaps a SHANK UP might be better :)

A third shout for "The Swindle"...

£1 for the team comp & £1 for the individual - and a third £1 to the Captain's Charity if you're last and have to do the Walk of Shame. (Avoiding "The Walk" is a much more serious competition than winning...)

Just plain old Club at ours. They come in many guises though, Monday club, Tuesday club, Thursday club, two clubs on a Saturday - quarter to eight club and the elevens club.

Plenty of opportunity to get a game.
