What club do you start practice with?

Huge lash with a driver. If it doesn't go straight and half way up the back fence (at 250 yards) on the full, then I go to the pub!! ;)

My range dishes out 108 balls.
So that's
4 with Pw
4 with 8i
100 with driver... KABOOM----POW!!!!

(Not that far from the truth... Sadly)

I start with a 6 iron - something that doesn't dig in like a wedge, and something that I won't KABOOM POW! Then work up to the long stuff. Then its wedge play, once the old muscles are loose.

Then a rub down with a moist edition of Take a Break or Women's Own...

I usually start my practice with a 6 iron. Just something I have always done and I guess I always will. My first club in a lesson is always 6 iron too.

I like to pre round warmup with about 20 half 52*s, I find that great before heading out for swing path and alignment.

Wedges for me... I start every second club then..... 5 balls with each and a half dozen practice swings before each hit....
56,PW,8,6,4....
Then back up in odds....5,7,9....

Normal a few easy PWs to see how the old body feels that day. Depending how settled and warmed up I feel, I work up to the longer clubs as soon as possible.

I'm the same club to start with, but then after 8 hits, go to the driver for a few, then back to 6 iron, then PW, then finish with 6 iron.

if it's a swish in the nets, then 6 iron all the way.

In the nets before a round i'll start with about 5 three quarter 7 irons, then about a dozen 4 irons as thats normally my first tee club (par 3).

On the range i always seem to start with a wedge.

During lessons its always a 7 iron.

We have a practise green on our range, so if I have it to myself I play 9 pitch shots onto that with my 56 to loosen up.

I then play from 10 yards behind and to the side of the green, start with my PW and hit 5, then down to my 8, then my 6.

I then go out with my 56 or 52 and play the 15 shots back from the various ranges, some as lay ups etc, this then allows me to work on my pitching as well. I then obviously get to practise my short chips after missing the green with 14 out of the 15 haha.

I start at the range with the 8 iron with an easy swing and build up to a full swing.
I then go 6, 3h, driver, 5, 9, 56w, PW,7, 3h, driver

Chipping and putting are pre round practices for me

Putt for a bit, a few bump and runs, the swing with 2 clubs making sure I rotate fully then choose the club with the biggest head for the first tee. Only usually turn up 15-20 mins before tee time so I can stay longer socially after in my 5-6 hour golf window (which was put into doubt when my mate told his mrs its only a 3.5 hour round in comps!........bye bye 5 hour round myth)

If there's a tee or I can get a tee to stand up, then, after a few stretches and knee touches, I'll start of with the Driver as it's the easiest to swing.

Then a few half and 3/4 swings with the PW and before moving up to 7 and or 6 and upwards according to ho much time.

It's a warm-up session, not a range/practice one.

I start with my putter and finish with my putter - on the putting green immediately before I tee off. What else is there to practice? All that's happened in the past when I've had a go at 'the practice thing' is that I practice, develop and hone my rubbish shots.

I add that I do not post this as advice to new golfers - this is just me :)

I don't warm up before a round, but I do go to the range occasionally.

My take on it is that I don't want to be using something that needs hitting hard to get the ball in the air properly, but I also don't want to be swinging my shortest clubs (which require the most bending at address) before my back is a little looser, so I normally start with something around an 8 iron with little swings just knocking it 100 yards or so.

If its just a general practice session I'll warm up with easy swings with an 8, then 9, PW, then go to 7, 6 irons, then fairway woods and then Driver. I might then go back to a club that hadn't been going particularly well, but will finish off with knocked down wedges.

If I'm working on a particular swing thought or shot type I'll spend more time doing that particular thing but still hit a range of clubs - I am trying to get into purposeful practice, not just a swing and hit.

Before a round I'll always end with the club I'll be using off the first tee.

hit a few hybrids off the deck just to loosen up and to focus the concentration straightaway, I also hit a lot of hybrids off of tees as I don't carry a 3 wood or a 5 wood, so another reason why I practice so much with it

with a range at the first tee it's usual to hit a few balls before teeing off - I realise this isn't normal from visiting other clubs!

I now start with an 8 iron, sometimes 7, because I find that my normal PW swing isn't full enough to give me any easy tempo, but an 8 is still not a stressfull start!

Then a few with 6i 4h or 5i 3h depending on which I started, then a few with a 52w before heading to the tee.

Pretty much this, although I finish with a few 3w
