What age do you think you will live to?

I've no idea what age I'll live to. I know what I'd like to live to. I'd take 70.

And last week's message from the Cardiologist that started with, "I can't see retirement for you..." was not pleasant.

Maybe he meant your ticker is in such good fettle for your age that you'll still be wanting to be working in 30 years?:p;)

Right until my late 20's i never thought i would make 30. Used to race bikes, ride too fast on the road, i fully expected to be a statistic. Now i would like to retire before 70 and have ten years of golf etc.. 80 something would do. I don't want to a burden on anyone, so the second I am, I will sort it. Hand me my shotgun boy!!

mum and dad both made 72 ,but each were not due to old age ,mum was an accidental death while dad was a heavy smoker. im hoping i can reach my 80`s currently 58 [59 in 11 days] so hopefully still time to get to single figure h/cap.

Hopefully longer than my dad as otherwise I've only got 3 more years to go. Paranoid about big C symptoms, you bet 😱. Going off other family history then hopefully early 80's.

Seeing people living longer but with dementia and Alzheimer's I'm not sure the constant quest to live longer is always the right choice. Quality of life is more important.

Good luck everyone out there 😁

Ive outlived my dad by 10 years already but smoking was his downfall. My Mother lived to 94 and Grandfather to 96 so maybe the genes are good on that side of the family. My Grandfather was retired from the Fire Brigade at 36 due to damaged lungs and heart after inhaling a lot of smoke in fires. He had retirement pension from the Brigade for 60 years.

I don't care about the actual age per se, I just don't want to be dependant on other people getting me up, getting me to the bathroom and leaving me in cabbage corner watching flies on the window.

If that means I don't make my next birthday if I deteriorated some what quickly, then so be it.

It's just a number, my health and ability to do things on my own without assistance is key to me.

Dad died @ 65 so I gave myself
5/6 yrs.on top.
Now @79 and fit as a butchers dog- touch wood - I wish I`d put more into my pension.
LOL

Got to 65th birthday healthily, blinked and now I'm 70 and manage 18 holes at least twice a week with no sweat. Time does seem to fly by so I fancy another 10 healthy years please.

Trouble is your brain still thinks your 35 and doesn't know it's in an old chassis!

So to message to all you youngsters do what you can as soon as you can because you'll soon be classed an old fart like me.

Im 48 this year if i get another 14.5 healthy yrs to see the youngest's 21st that will do me . il take what ever healthy ones i get after that ,

Dads 96 this yr & goes to every local horse race meet , mams 86 few age health probs but strong as a horse & still driving

Cancer runs in the family which is a big concern and currently coming up to 51. I'd like to reach retirement age and enjoy some "us" time with the wife but who knows what the future holds. I do start wondering about old age and death and like others don't want to be a burden to anyone. Depending on what happens going forward health wise I'm seriously considering a DNR order

Retired at 52 and now 54. Never really thought about it. Golf kinda keeps me active along with walking.
If I went tomorrow, no regrets. Got a lovely family, Missis etc etc. Both parents on both sides still alive and moaning at 76-80 yr old. But does that mean owt.
will leave this life with no regrets at the moment. Will leave it full of memories for me and others and not dreams.
