Just wondering what ur worst shot to follow a great one was...?

9th today, hit the best drive of my life, carried the bunker st the corner of the dogleg in the middle of the fairway, 60 yards or so to the green.

Walked off with a 6!!!! Wedge in hands, difficult to explain how bad a swing i made but ended up on the adjacent fairway no more than halfway toward the hole! Truly, truly awful.

Rounded it off with my only 3 putt of the day aswell.

So, whats your worst shot immediately following a good/great one?

Probably a 230m drive towards a par 4,
140m left... cue the shanks... Straight in the trees
Drop another.... Shank...
Drop another.... hook, :p
Took a blob haha
Jordan

similar to you today jocko, course managed a tight par 4 with 2 nice shots to leave a straight 50yd pitch to the pin. :)

S****K into the bunker on the front corner of the green :( :o

I was congratulated on my escape from the bunker, but it did not really make up for the previous

Played our 425 yard 16th today which was into the wind. Hit the fairway and still had 227 left. The stableford score had long gone west and 0.1 safely in the bag so decided to hit 3 wood. Hit it perfectly and it flew the bunker some 30 yards short and onto the green no more than 20 feet away. Walked off with a 5 after three dodgy putts

Hit a great drive on the first at Nairn today only 30 yards short of the green, about 60-70 yards further than my playing partners. Thinned it 100 yards though the back into the burn on the next hole walked of with a 6 :(

I do that all the time!!! :(

It explains why I'm off 10 and not low single figures.

If I could improve from 100 yards in, I'd be a good golfer.....

Hit a career second shot with 16 degree hybrid to our fifth hole today. Out of the soggy rough,220 yards, drew it to three feet. Hole normally plays hardest on the course. Then proceed to three putt, with first two putts not even touching the hole. :(

Bob help, why does the hole look about an inch wide, and is always on the side of a mountain ? :( :( :( :( :( :(

Back a few years in a medal comp. 4th hole par 4 about 320 downwind, cream a beautiful drive runs onto the green to about 15ft. 3 putt for a par :(

A few years back I played a 510 yard par 5. Storming drive and an equally good 3 wood left me 1 yard short of the green, 6 yards short of the hole.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory I made a mess of the off-green putt and then 4 putted from 8 feet!!

Seemed to lose interest in the round after that.....

Far too many to mention, every week I amaze myself after hitting a decent drive or get on the dance floor in regulation to walk away with bogey or worse, I even landed on about ten feet from the pin on my 16th par 3 and walked away with a 4. Don't know why i bother!!

Playing at East Brighton a few weeks ago with Pieman, Justone and Snelly.
Got to the 13th, short par 4. Hit an absolutely superb 3 wood off the tee, lovely draw and knew it wouldn't be far from the green. When I got there I was pin high, sitting on the fringe. Out with the putter, fairly straightforward putt for a very rare eagle...yeah right
4 for 2.

Mine would be last week hit my new driver 319yrd(confirmed via GPS) hit a PW into the Par 5 SI-2 7th smack bang middel of the green chased the eagle with the 1st putt walked off with a Par.

What made it worse was the group ahead all taking the p*ss about the length of the drive only for all 4 of them to ask if I made 3 LOL.

Hit a corking drive on our par 5 18, and was going for the green in 2, wind behind as normally it is a 3 shotter, had to wait for the green to clear, felt like 10 mins, 3 wood in hand, was hitting it great all day, then yup, topped it 80 yards into a fairway bunker!!!!!
made 7, gutted! :(

That has got to be one of easiest shots to play in golf.
We can all do it.
;)

Far too many to pick out just one. We've all done the middle of the fairway and s**nked/ topped/fatted/hooked/thinned/sliced scenarios. 4 putting after nailing an iron to 10 feet. Doesnt do to dwell too much on the cock-ups though does it ? Have a good laugh or cry with your mates then forget it cos it wont be long before the next :D

The worst was a shot i played as a junior. Par 5 18th at shirley park. A perfect drive has me sitting middle of the fairway with an easy 5w to the green on a summers afternoon. The club house is left of the green and the patio is full of the adult members that have played before us, my playing partners all layer up with easy 5/6i and charlie big balls goes fit it in two. Cue the biggest snap hook right which heading bang for the clubhouse roof!

FORE LEFT see's people scatter like panicking ants as my ball it's the club house roof braking a couple of tiles, the ball rattles up the roof around the secretary and course managers office window and rolls back down, drops off the roof and into the middle table on the patio and a nice hard bounce results on my ball coming to rest on the putting green. Whoops

My worst ever shot, and there have been plenty, was off the 1st tee at The Old Course.
First time I'd played it, and despite it being the end of March with not many people around at all, I was bricking it as I stood around the tee waiting to go.
My mates had all hit superb drives down the middle of the mile wide fairway, I stepped onto the tee and was a gibbering wreck for some reason.
Took a couple or practice swings and then hit the most horrendous "drive" of my then short career. Came right over the top, nearly missed the ball but sent it scuttling into the valley of sin by the 18th green. Was my face red... :o :o :o
Got off the tee as quickly as I could, and just wanted the ground to open and swallow me up.
Took my stance to play my second shot, couple of practice swings and then hit it sooo fat it bobbled down the fairway no more than 50 yards. And the size of the divot I took. It was like a bloody python.
I don't think I have ever been so nervous on the first tee since that day (Trilby Tour at Bearwood Lakes came close but I did manage to get the ball off the tee and into play of sorts).
