A FC the other day had a Taylormade 5 wood. It was a lovely looking thing and had a dark reddish, maybe maroon crown with a silver/metallic sole.

Had a 'bubble' shaft I think.

Went like a cannon.

Anyone know what club I'm prattling on about?

My playing partner uses an R7 which has a red/maroon head but the shaft suggests the one you are mentioning is older

Wasn't an R7..... or R anything.

I'm trying to remember if it included the word 'Steel' or whether I read about this somewhere else. It's driving me mad.

Could it be the original burner? (don't know if it was the first) which had a "bubble" shaft

Could have been a Firesole or a Supersteel........

There was a wood that had a burgundyish head - CBG or something.....

"Darker" reddish colour maybe the Bubble 2 range of clubs from 1997ish onwards. TM also made some titanium heads which had a darker colour than the "normal" original copper colour of the first generation Burner Bubbles. These were called (surprise, surprise) Ti Bubble. Anyway, long story short, if it has a bubble shaft, it's a Bubble
