Here you go fella

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

Factoring activity:

•If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2

•If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375

•If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55

•If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725

•If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9

Being honest started last Tuesday, but still had lots of bad stuff knocking around the fridge. Didn't get a game of footy in last week, but did manage a game of squash and 2 games of golf.

Enough of the excuses, I "maintained" (to use slimming world speak).

started 18 st 12, still the same this week, try harder for next week.

Just completed my first full week. On a fairly low calorie intake diet as per drawboy who lost 6 st.
6'1" starting weight was between 19st6-7lbs
This morning 18st13lbs.

I am consuming around 650-700 calories per day max yet have more energy now than I did when I was putting away more than the daily allowance of 2000. Strange or what?
Saturday night was my elder brothers stag and I allowed myself to have a good night out but keep an eye on what I was eating/drinking. I had steak but no creamy sauces and had a majority of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and only 6 or so chunky chips. Then around 6 pints. I was amazed to wake up thus morning no worse off than Saturday morning and have been sticking to my plan since.

I honestly don't see next week being as dramatic as the first week as it always seems to have a bigger drop, even though I have been drinking loads of water/sugar free diluting juice and coffee.
I miss bread but can't say I have been tempted with sweets nor butter etc.

That's amazing willpower Brendy but for me way too low on calories and long term you will burn muscle to feed your body whilst maintaining fat stores as your body goes into starvation mode. End result is a higher % of body fat relative to weight never mind a decrease in your metabolic rate which means it will be easier to gain weight once you eat normally and this will also be stored as fat...

You will also have lost significant amounts of stored water as you cut calories and carbs...

As I said though, your willpower is amazing so why not keep that whilst upping those calories to something more sustainable and beneficial for your body...

Thanks for that Amanda, I am snacking on fruit between small meals and to be honest things like beer root really fills me up quickly now and I dont even fancy anything else.
A typical day so far is:
Oat so simple with around 100mls full fat milk (we have 3 kids and prefer it over semi skimmed)
Banana at 10
Slimasoup and either a few mushrooms, grapes or baby tomatoes to keep it different daily
Apple at 3pm
Dinner at 6-7ish which will be either homemade soup, chicken breast or similar and a side salad. I guess it is usually around the 400 cal mark.
Through the day I will drink diluted low sugar juice or coffee and in the evening if I do feel a little peckish, I have some baby beetroot, tomatoes etc in the fridge then a sugar free coffee.

At the moment I play golf (weather permitting) on sat and sun but not a lot of exercise beyond that. I will be going out for a walk most evenings shortly, maybe from wed night on (between taking my daughters to swimming classes etc, time is tight some nights so won't be every night.

My calorie count might be a touch off but I don't see nor feel myself being starved. I am sat now typing this feeling quite full too. Any advice is more than welcome though.

edit: forgot to mention, I do not wish to continue this on for more than a few months as I know once I get towards an even keel I can begin allowing myself occasional treats as long as I keep a count and not let it ruin an otherwise good week each time.

Apart from just wanting this, I also filled the house with healthy foods and the missus knows exactly what to buy in the weekly shops from here on too. No chocolate, sugary cereal, crisps etc. I am also avoiding takeaways like the plague.

This 2-3lb a week thing is proving difficult. I only managed a lb.... on.

Last week 16st 12lbs

Today 16st 13lbs.

The good news is I finished the last of the Xmas chocs last night.

Mrs Hobbit has decided she needs to lose some before our holidays, so we've now signed up to weightwatchers. I'm hoping having her also eating rabbit food we'll make a decent effort at losing weight.

I'm 5ft 9ins, 30 years old

13st 7lbs starting weight

13st 5lbs this morning after getting rid of yesterdays gorgeous beef dinner

Apparently a BMR of just over 1909, a BMI of 27.76 and meaning a lazy calorie intake of 2280, I'M OVERWEIGHT

I've never really paid much attention to my weight before as I've always though I'm fine as long as I fit in my 34ins jeans, which I do easily

starting today with a weight of 13st 13...four years ago I was 17st 3 and maintained at 13st 7 after losing the 4 stone over 18 months until the middle of last year so setting a goal of 13st again now after a xmas binge, but I wont rush it, a pound a week will do me...during my weight loss I also managed the couch potato to 5km (being an oldie I prefer to think of it as 3 miles)

I am toying with the idea of adding Amanda's 100 push up routine as well, (but will take it cautiously)

slow but sure is the best way chaps, dont try the faddy diets, especially the cabbage water

I'm starting today.
Weighed in this evening in Boots on my way to work as my scales are not working due to one of the feet missing. Going to probably stick to this time as it will be more accurate and same time each week.

Alot more than I expected too

9/1/12 at 20:30. 23St 4lb

Have you allowed for clothing Chris as Boots dont like nuddy men in their shops, apparently it "freaks the customers out!" :D Im a Gordons Chemist man now :D

They were so speechless at the sight of my driver LOL that they didn't seem to notice the uncovered sex machines fuel tank.
My pro is also starting this regime. Tell Bannon big Scotty weighed in at 25st 10lb. That will get some banter going lol

Going to try and stick to wheaten bread and no carbs after dinner which is really my lunch time for me as I work nights. My club captain lost 3.5 stone in 7 months by going to the gym each morning and eating healthier with no carbs after 14:00 unless he happened to have a late session in the gym and then only to feed the muscles to recover.

Good luck to all of you with the weight loss and healthy eating. I am 5' 11'' and fluctuate between 11.25 - 11.5 stone, I eat pretty well but eat too many sweets and chocolate and drink a couple of bottles of red most weeks! I struggle to put weight on as I am on my feet alot at work, have 2 young kids to look after when my wife is at work (2 days a week), walk the dog, play golf (once a fortnight at the moment) and try and do 2 30-45 minute workouts a week time allowing!
